    Sun_Addict - Thanks, I hope you've had a couple of happy days.

WinterWarrior - I had a few g&ts in the end and felt quite happy when I went to bed :)

Today has been a very different day from yesterday. I've been home alone with no visits or phone calls, dds are all busy with other family commitments, so it's been very restful except for pup being here!!

It's also been horrible weather wise, dark, drizzly and cold so I haven't been out, also thought pup would have been going home but it looks like he is here another night, so puppy cuddles tonight!

I have been going through food supplies and I don't know why I have got as much as I have. Paring down will start to happen when I've finished eating carb heavy rubbish for meals, mind you I'm quite enjoying it!! Oatcakes and cheese for lunch and I think I will be having sandwiches, crisps etc with a lettuce leaf and tomato for good health for tea :) it was supposed to be LO curry but I really don't fancy it. I've also been freezing leeks, brussels and celery as I'm not likely to eat them before they go off, I had all these food plans and I really can't be bothered at the moment, I've even sliced the Xmas cake up and froze it to stop me eating it all day. I will give myself a couple of more days and then I will have to get back to normal. (May be after New Year with the amount of stuff I bought/made.)

I've no grandma duties this next week so a visit to the lottie is planned so I can plan next year's layout and I can pick a few bits whilst there. I love going  down there but hate the mud and getting dirty.

Anyway getting really boring so I'll go and get my tea ready, and I might have a glass of something with it instead of coffee!!

    Have a good night everyone.

Well had a glass  of ' something' with some cheese and biscuits and feeling as if I have been stuffed with cotton wool balls. Tomorrow I'm going to start eating properly, I don't like this overfull feeling I seem to have all day, cure would be to have a day off eating I suppose. As if that will happen .... Anyway at least I could eat properly!!!!

It's very quiet here at the moment, no noise what so ever, there were a few people having parties in the Close last night, probably making the most of it whilst they can  :)
Tomorrow I think I will take the snowflake decorations down in the dining room and the advent calendar as well, I know it's early but I do just a little bit each day, so then I get used to it looking a bit bearer day by day rather than all at once lol.  I'm also going to put the chocs and biscuits upstairs out of my way for a while as well!!

    Right bedtime

I usually take my decorations down bit by bit although a few years ago I bought a lit twig tree that I keep up all year round to cheer things up. I also keep a lit garland on the mantelpiece all year round plus several strands of fairy lights.

Sun_Addict - I love fairy lights around the place at Xmas but I always put them away,

I took the decorations down in the dining room so tomorrow I'll sort the hall and front room window sill out. They won't take long but the ornaments need a wash/dust wrapping up and reboxed.  Some are quite old now so need a bit of extra care.

dd 3 came (with her family) and after us all taking pup on a very muddy walk went home with said pup and some goodies, so I don't have to eat them as my waistband seems a bit tighter!!

This afternoon I made some sushi, one of my presents was a sushi mat, I have been after one for ages, and it wasn't too difficult, they were a bit chunky but tasted lovely, I can see it will be a regular thing from now on.

Nothing spent as I haven't been near any shops, don't even know if they are open, although the recycling and food waste was collected this morning the food waste was left in my bin, I think they thought it was empty as there was very little in it.

Missing pup, I keep looking around for him and it seems empty now but I will see him next week when dd is back at work and grandma duties start again, mind you I see him before that as I'm due up at their house in a couple if days.
Funny how quickly you get used to them being there.

Going forward I don't have much on this week,  I have a pair of trousers to alter, a knitted baby blanket to mend and I would like to start tidying my craft room out. I have quite a few books, material and wool in there to go through and then there's card making stuff that I haven't looked at for a few years!! I went a bit mad when I first retired thinking I had to get new hobbies etc so it could do with a sort through. Dd3 bought me a new Kipling bag for Xmas so I need to change over to use that one and perhaps go through my bag collection, it's not very big but there's bags in there that I've had for years and some that are sentimental and I probably need to let go of some now.

Sounds like you had a lovely Christmastime Nanny G. The time between Christmas and New Year is always a little strange. Working out what day it is, whether you have anything that needs doing, and so on. DP asked if we needed to go food shopping and I said "We'll make do" as I just don't fancy the shops at present (though he did pop to the corner shop for a bottle of milk). I'm spending today and tomorrow sorting out art/craft supplies as they've rather taken over my corner of the dining room (I decided to use a table cloth to hide my little shelf unit from FIL as I couldn't face sorting it out before he came for Christmas Day).

Toonie - at least I can shut the door of my craft room, and I'm the only one who goes in there lol

Well my intentions in the craft room, clearing Xmas decorations etc have gone by the way today. I didn't wake up until late and then I had an oversleep headache, cured by analgesics but I just couldn't get going so didn't!!! I have been reading, watching tv and eating, so it's been really restful, so I hope to feel more get up and go tomorrow and I can make a start.

No shopping done, so no money spent. I wish the weather would dry up a bit, my driveway is under water, it does drain off into a land drain but takes a time, and the garden is looking worse for wear and its not worth me starting anything, likewise the lottie, it's not even raining properly just that continuous drizzle stuff.

I managed scrambled eggs at lunchtime, but tonight has been Xmas stuff leftovers, I'm missing 'normal' food now but loathe to throw stuff out and dds aren't being seen until the weekend, so I probably will throw some out, I didn't realise I bought so much as it didn't seem so at the time and I've already given quite a bit away!!

So off to watch some more tv or something

  • I did something I shouldn't have done this morning, I weighed myself, now I know why my clothes are getting tighter by the the day  :/, so that's it healthier eating will commence!

I still don't need any shopping at the moment though so that's good, and I will start to put down what I have eaten, hope I remember!

So today, I stripped the bed let it air and then remade it, cleaned upstairs and had all the windows open to let some fresh air in. Made lunch, and then this afternoon whilst the big yellow ball was showing itself I went a walk, only local and pupless as he's gone home, but it was really pleasant and warm.

Oh and I've made a start in my craft room, (It's the smallest bedroom really) I started by sorting one shelf out, all my craft books and all the sewing patterns I'm never likely to ever do again, so tomorrow I will do another shelf and my knitting patterns.

    So breakfast was porridge
Lunch was a sausage, baked beans and eggs.
Tea was jacket potato with hm coleslaw.
I've also had some fruit and been munching on a couple of carrots :)
