This is far beyond a wobbly moment,QrizB said:
Well there's your problem, E.ON clearly had a wobbly moment when they decided you used 1040kWh in a single day with their 14174 E estimate.
Before I joined this forum while speaking to the e-ON rep, the lady threatened me with a CCJ, hence in fright I made a commitment to pay it all off and made a part payment
Shocking
E.ON_Company_Representative:_Helena any comments ?

It might not be Eon's fault (although the error was glaringly obvious). I presume you supplied Bulb with an opening meter reading on or around the day of the handover? This reading is then passed to an independent adjudicator who may see fit to adjust the reading. This adjudicated reading is then used by Bulb as your starting reading and by Eon as your closing reading. Clearly something has gone wrong on Eon's side but the error could have take place earlier in the process and Eon might be using the reading they were given, which is what they are obliged to do. That's why it is important for you to check what opening reading Bulb have used.Reed0

Even though what you said does make a lot of sense, I personally dont believe they are innocent.Reed_Richards said:It might not be Eon's fault (although the error was glaringly obvious). I have spent so much quality time going back and forth (IN MY IGNORANCE) explainig to them that their bill cant be right and that there was a family living in the property prior to my moving in and even though its a 3 bed house, I live alone and my daughter's room remains empty as she does not live with me (I shower in the gym, as I am there morning and evening 5x a week) and I hardly used the heater and boiler is off except for saturday for about an hour or two
I then got threatened and told they would lodge a CCJ (which would mean 6 years of punishement) and destroy my credit history
Even though I agreed to pay it off and kept pleading it cant be right, they refused to listen, until I was educated on here on what the right proceedures are. If not, I would have coughed out £338 for 2 months of usage, when they could have looked at the bill and seen something was over exaggerated
After all, it didnt take long for you guys to spot something was fishy on here
If there was no internet or forums or kind people to educate me, they would have punished me serverly0 -
What concerns me is the threat of CCJ. There was a similar threat (was that also Eon ?) recently where the threat of a CCJ was the opening gambit and also for a very small amount - whereas another poster owes £11,000 and not a hint of a CCJ'
Is this simply bad training or a deliberate ploy ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Yes e-ON threatened a CCJ both written and verbally, even though I spent time going back and forth with them, never once did they listenRobin9 said:What concerns me is the threat of CCJ. the letter before claim was sent on 11th june, saying my last bill was 23rd april, thats just about 6+ weeks and they said I have 30 working days before I am totally and completely annihilated, destroyed, terminated, wiped out
Just joking in the last part, but yes I was threatened, even when I called their helpline the lady threatened me so I offered a payment plan, which she accepted and then sent me out a confirmation of promise to pay
Yes, but I had already started payment and they keep you listening to all sorts of promises on the phone, I was on the phone for almost an hourGerry1 said:Have you sent E.On todays's readings? That should trigger a revised statement and get the dogs called off.If you had done this on 12 July as I suggested it would probably all have been done and dusted by now.0 -
The more actual information you can provide the more we can help you. It took you from 12th July to 2nd August to provide the meter readings on which your Eon bill was based and then we were able to tell you what had gone wrong in under an hour. Now, please, tell us the starting reading that Bulb used for your electricity bills.Reed0

thank you and yes I do appreciate it
Apparently I panicked when I was threatened verbally, so I gave into a payment plan. Even my landlord did not notice the error
I have been tossed back and forth between the 2 providers, and yet to get the meter readings, I just sent them a reminder yesterday and yet to get a reply which is unusual as BULB tends to reply quickly
I will revert0 -
If I remember correctly I could view my readings online when I was with Bulb. I also got monthly statements as email attachments that showed the meter readings on which the billing was based.Reed0
