Quick update - letter received confirming receipt of my defence. I now await them taking it forwards I think, right?
And your MCOL filing history now also shows the defence having been filed?
Doesn't appear to - the only thing under response history is the AOS

There's also on the right (as I'm sure you're familiar with) a section that says Respond to Claim, however the advice is to just email it in so I haven't touched that

Keep checking MCOL claim history daily , contact them Friday afternoon if still not registered , seeing as you had a letter back recently

Do not submit anything on MCOL , leave it alone , read only

Exactly ... that's why I asked the question. If MCOL hasn't updated then it may be likewise for the Claimant so they might think they can sneak in a default judgment on the basis of the claim not being defended.

Still nothing on MCOL regards the defence but have now received the N180 from DCB Legal.

I'll be in touch with them on Monday regarding the defence.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas - just a quick update:

I was looking in the wrong place on MCOL and I can see the defence has been lodged as of the 7th December - my mistake.

I have received the N180 from the other side although I don't appear to have received a N180 form to complete myself. Is this normal or should I be finding the form online to complete myself? I just want to make sure I don't miss a deadline.

The latter , if MCOL claim history says it's been posted ? Or wait if it's not been posted , until it's in the post

You should be following the 12 numbered steps by coupon mad in the Defence template post , where this is already explained !!

Clearly you are not following them , so are only halfway through

Actually RedX, I am following them, I'm just looking for reassurance that where it says the following, I should just be waiting to receive the N180, not taking any other action:

After sending off your Defence, the Northampton Business centre will send a copy to the Claimant, and then send a Directions Questionnaire (form N180) to both Claimant and Defendant.

Whether this is via the post or email, I don't appear to have had anything, however the CCBC must have sent the N180 to the claimant so I can't understand why i would not have received it yet if that was the case.

Do not use the N180 form sent by the claimant. It is likely to have been partly completed in a way that is detrimental to your case.

As Redx said above, if you are at the N180 stage then either wait for the one to arrive from the court or download one and use that. Just beware in caser one does not arrive from the court before the filing deadline.

Thanks Fruitcake, I'll do that in that case. How do I work out the filing deadline? I have looked at the information on the forum but can't see it mentioned.

It's included with the N180 CCBC provided letter that you have not received yet , so varies depending on when they posted it , same as the defence did , but no point in delaying submission after receiving it , hence doing it whilst it's still in the post of after receiving it
