There is a guide by Bargepole in the newbies FAQ sticky thread which explains how to fill in the N180
  • Bargepole says to send the N180 back to Northampton. The letter says to file it with my local court office and provides an address. Do I post this instead of emailing? And do the same to the claimant or to their solicitors?

Only in ab initio cases where a local court has yet to be allocated. Do as the letter instructs. Everything via email to the court and the claimant's solicitor (if they have one), otherwise to the claimant direct.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • Thanks @Umkomaas the court gave only provided a postal address, no email. Am I still ok to send via email?

Do you have an email address for the court? Can you find one if you search?

Most courts have websites with suitable email addresses for paperwork and documents etc , surely your local court does ?  Mine does in Manchester for example !

The Bargepole guide is for a brand new claim , nothing to do with set aside claims , those are dealt with by your local Civil court and these days email is used , not post

Once your local court is involved , the CCBC and MCOL are not in use and are not involved

I’ll double check. I’ve just called CCBC as it’s been almost two months and no information regarding the consented set aside. They said they have no record of receiving it amazingly. Only the payment. Despite it being in my sent item box. Ridiculous.
