Old Style Weight Loss Challenge 2021 - 3rd Quarter

victoriajj, marycanary, gingerlily looks like a good start to the new quarter! Well done! 💐💐💐
Today’s Blue Doggy Eats were:
B - bacon & eggs
L - cottage cheese salad; plain yogurt
D - grilled chicken leg, mushrooms, peas, Swiss chard; peaches (2, flat) cream; 🍷🍷
S - none so far
I really must give up the wine, I find I’m turning to it when stressed, like today, when my hedge trimmer refused to start. I had to use my calorie-burning hand shears (but probably didn’t burn enough calories). Also, “call that stress?! What a wuss!”“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

Well done on the start to the new quarter all!
I'm starting with a STS, which with the way I've eaten this week I should be ok with, so I will try to be. Realistically I can't see any losses happening until the football is over as I keep using it as an excuse to have beer and crisps (and whatever else I fancy).
Blue Doggy - that would cause me stress too and certainly would be rewarding myself for still getting the hedge trimmed with a wine or two!8 -
Yesterday
B 0
lunch, tomato soup,(not cream of..), fruit,
Dinner:- turkey, veg, no sugar jelly plus a yogurt, and then I stumbled and ate 2 HM Eccles cakes. They had just come out of the oven, well risen, with a crispy golden top and hot.
i have a bit of a conflict - I'm trying to diet and the freezers are full of food, some of it is good and some quite calorific and there is only so much that DH can eat. I'm trying not to shop but to use up things from the freezers to give myself space for the forthcoming fruit and veg I grow. It just so happened that I took out a quarter of a packet of puff pastry...... I did give myself a talking to afterwards.7 -
Checking in with -1.5 lbs since last Wednesday.
quite pleased with that as had gained 0.5 on Saturday at SW .
of course I weigh starkers at home but don’t think they’d appreciate that in group .!
Do seem to have my head round it a bit more10 -
I’ll round down to the nearest half a pound - as it’s all done by a digital Bluetooth scales which is way too accurate - who measures in 0.01 of a pound ?
But a good start - (Edit - updated as I’d looked at the wrong day last week) one week in and down just over 4 lbs.
Happy with the week - but far too many chicken salads.Loss 4lbs
Well done to those that have dropped a few ounces this week - and those that haven’t - don’t give up - if I can do it anyone can eventually do it.9 -

yes please stick to 1/2lb chunks Cymruchris that's enough for my poor brain
Yes Suffolksue the advantage of online WIs - naked and first thing is acceptable on here
Zafiro i know what you mean re dealing with food in the house which isn't the most healthy - not sure on a answer other than the occasional treat or the not so occasional treat I tackled a pizza from mine last week and have spent the year eating slices of courgette cake made from the courgette glut of 2020
I'm aware I'm another one with a STS this week, I'm sleeping badly at the moment and with tiredness comes CBA to cook just to me and eating sugar to keep awake (expected by the boss)

Hi Blue! I see that we are aiming for losing the same this quarter. Race you. Yes, I'm backto the mindful eating and thinking 'stomach' instead of 'mouth'.
I'm also from Hampshire, and growing up, the meal in the middle of the day was dinner, and it was the main meal of the day. Tea was at about 5 o'clock and anything eaten after that was supper.
Most people had their main meal in the middle of the day because most people worked locally and well able to go home for it. We all went home from school for lunch, not possible now small local schools have been closed, and also mothers were at home to cook it.
When I retired I went back to eating my main meal in the middle of the day. I like to get all the work done and dusted in the morning and the rest of the day is my own. It has the added bonus that I no longer wake in the night with heartburn.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Well done Lovely losers! 👏👏👏
Keep going, STSers, 👍👍👍Hi monna, good to see you. Your challenge is accepted! First one to hit the target gets a Medal🎖.
There’s an interesting bit about mealtimes in a book I’ve been reading (“The Art of Dining” by Sara Paston-Williams (National Trust)). It seems that dinners started to move from midday to early evening in about the middle of the 17th century. For me, it was the closure of the staff canteen and the move to a snatched sandwich lunch at my desk which caused the change (bad for the digestion, weight, and waistline).Well, I seem to have lost yesterday’s input! It was: B - porridge; L - ham salad, peach; D - cauliflower bolognaise, strawberries & yoghurt. No snacks.
Today’s grub was:
B - smoked haddock (poached)
L - Camembert with salad; yogurt & blueberries
D - mushroom omelette, mixed veg; strawberries & yogurt; 🥂

Well done everyone!
I am reporting a measly half a pound loss.
It is a bit disappointing, and I have been struggling this week because it seems that my "Dash diet" is a recipe for raging heartburn, so it will need rethinking.
I have largely stuck to it though, if we don't include the tub of ice cream last night.7
