Outside from early this morning but very tired. Wanted to move the two older rose bushes without mum noticing, so did the last few roots on the red one and then put it in a large container and put it back where it had been before. Moved lots of small planters to make room for the window cleaner, moved potted on plants into the trolley using the gravel trays. Put them all on the tables near to where they will be planted. More plastic bottles rounded up and put behind the shed.
Tomato plants and poached egg plants into the raised bed (will add rows of spinach and lollo rosso later). Lots more soil moved, weeds and roots to the green bin, stones collected in buckets. Covered in scratches and pulled umpteen thorns out of my hands and arms.
Went out again late on when it was cooler. Pink rose into designated container and close to where it's going to go. Next metere length container bag stapled in place and part filled. Other end is ripped so will need to make a repair (which may involve gorilla tap. Went very grey and dark. Came in at 9 pm.
Was hoping to get to town, visit home and buy a few bits we need (bread, apples etc). Decided to do a small Iceland order, which is coming between 8 am and 10 am tomorrow.
Grateful for hot flannels, hot showers, creams for my hands and feet, good books. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage5 -

Today's 'to do' list has one outstanding item - water garden. The rain has saved me about 10 hours work (hate to use tap water but things were getting desperate) so I've got a day off. Just as well because my ankle needs proper rest.
I was awake at 4 am and at 6 am (nearly 8 litres of water drunk yesterday) and attended to some minor health issues. Usual juggling act of trying not to make any other issues worse. Had food order coming between 10 am and noon, but thought I could afford a little more sleep. Mum woke me when the man arrived. I had told her. She said 'We have no bread' (I gave her bacon on hastily defrosted white wraps) and I replied "I have a small order coming". Bread, apples, lots of frozen fish, no yoghurts because they don't have the right ones, drinks for me (because drank more than 8 litres yesterday including 2 l in one sitting), a couple of treats - not buying more than a couple at a time.
I have been planning to go either to home + town/ little arseda or Morrisons but ordered a delivery when it became obvious I wasn't going to manage it - for over a fortnight in the case of home.
Grateful for rain, rain, rain, beautiful rain, brave sparrows sitting in a line issuing a warning about the sparrowhawk to all the others, just lying here, thinking. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage6 -
NSD No 1
We got up really early and went for a walk in the sunshine. Just as well as it is now pouring down. Very muggy though. Looks like there might be a thunder storm.
So I've changed the bedding, done the washing, lots of cooking and a lot of other household things. It's been a productive day thanks to my list.
Himself is making baked potatoes (he does it better than me) with chilli from the freezer.
Think it will be early to bed with a pot of tea and a book.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
I like that you are planning your bedtime at 4 in the afternoon, toni'sfriend!

Monday I’ve got a grocery delivery coming, so I won’t bag a NSD until Tuesday.Looking forward to having homemade chilli, tortilla chips, sour cream and cheese for dinner, watching the football, and then having a cup of tea before going to bed!Grateful for family caravan, for a slow-paced day, and OH picking up some chocolate for me for after DS has gone to bed. 😁NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸4

A mostly resting day (had frozen fish and mushy peas for lunch and the time it took to microwave the peas set my limit for standing (can do a bit more if I'm moving around). So have been watching The Watch and stopping it between episodes to go and do a few jobs. Planted spinach, lollo rosso lettuce and the last two tomato plants, put a rose in a tub, lots of recycling to the bins, put something heavy in the top of the black bin to squash things down so there will be space for another bag by Tuesday.
Inside I have taken odd items from the shelves and put them in the spaces on the wardrobe shelves, found one of my 'missing' dresses (I have the two sets of painting clothes but couldn't find the next two dresses in line - they are old, a bit shabby and starting to get holes. They can be worn for dirty jobs but are fairly presentable if I need to go to town. When the most painty dress gives up the ghost, one of them will be demoted to second painting outfit (there are a couple of tops too). Everything else is good to unworn (bought a new winter jumper with present money and a big discount but it's reserved for next winter).
No money spent so NSD 1. Mum has seen the roses and is not happy. Initially she was disappointed, then worked herself up in stages to 'might as well throw them in the bin as you've killed them' - she said this about the clematis and the rhubarb both of which are now thriving. I've had to cut out all the diseased leaves on the roses, prune them where there were crossed branches, given them mostly the soil they were already growing in but with added compost, watered them and will give them a good feed.
Last year when we were doing the bit at the side of the house (I had a helper who was still fit enough for serious digging) she insisted on us digging out 3 rose bushes that were growing there. Helper dug them out, I wrapped them in bubble wrap to keep the roots wet until she decided where they were going and then she threw them in the bin. Extra half hour of work (we had already started to put in the top stone layer) for no reason whatsoever. This time she expected me to level the whole bed (already agreed before she put the roses I bought her last year in there) but leave the roses, so one bit would have been a foot to eighteen inches higher than the rest of the garden.
Later I caught her approaching the green bin with a pile of my saved yoghurt cartons and a jar. I said NO, took the yoghurt cartons off her (I will need them but I want to sort if any of the old batch can be reused before starting on these). When she threw the marmalade jar and lid in the bin anyway, I pointed out that they should be in the brown bin and she had to go and get the grabber stick to pull them out (last time I had to turn the whole bin upside down and root amongst the food waste to retrieve cans and jars).
She's making me cross and I'm trying not to retaliate (one of us needs to be adult) so I've isolated myself - opened the back doors so I can get outside without going through the living room. She's been phoning people to complain about me. Water off a duck's back.
Plans for the month include some major readjusting. I am not happy (lots of little signs which I've been pushing away). I still seem to be in limbo land. She 'wants me to go home' but panics if I go through the gate. If I appear with a bag in my hand she wants to know where I'm going, why, and when I'll be back and locks me in the house when there are still hours of daylight - I have explained that I get more done in the evening rather than in the middle of the day. I haven't been home for over two weeks and nothing will happen there unless I keep prodding gently.
So I need to find time to do things I want to do (walk, walk, walk, dance, read, have fun) and base my day on them. The garden is giving me a purpose and keeping me sane but it's a bit exclusive of other elements. Having increasingly bizarre meals because I am too tired to cook (finished off the rice salad with extra bean salad and threw a drained can of peaches in there as well - cba to use a separate dish).
Have played some music - sorry about the link, I seem to have linked to a whole album and U tube page and couldn't edit it out. Done little bits of sorting and tidying. Grateful for the bed, music, the garden, hot flannels and antiseptic cream, special toothpaste and easy food.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7 -

Just realised today was NSD2.Woke up with a headache, and feeling nauseous and have continued so all day. Tried tablets, tried a nice bath, just feel steamrollered and suspect hormones (or lack of them) are the culprit. I'll be fine tomorrow.Laundry done, kitchen cleaned, people fed. Diary managed - DH told me about something he is doing in SEPTEMBER 2022 !! I know I had to get a diary in the summer hols last year because they kept throwing dates at me, but I thought it was a one-off. Seems it is going to continue like this. I put it on the shopping list.Booked DS4 into a two week Summer School at the secondary he is going to be going to in August - spray can graffiti, sports, CSI science investigations, cookery - all that jazz, one session in the morning, one in the afternoon, he wants to do it all! Oh well, it is free, and he will get to know the school building and some of the staff and some of the kids in his year I guess. So the school run will not exactly disappear over summer, but I do get a few weeks off either side.Gratitudes: not having to leave the house or drive today, getting the cleaning done early, solar power dried laundry, football, ( Denmark still doing it for Chris Eriksen), and for an easy supper of sausages.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Finally setting out my stall........
JUST do it - yep - this week will be ticking off some frog jobs.
OVERVIEW of the month. - plans have already changed but this month I have an afternoon tea with DH (35 years together tomorrow) and a lunch with colleagues for end of the year. DH went to Swedish emporium today and bought DS3 a much needed new mattress. We go away for a long weekend 29th July for 3 nights, so there will be spends there. No other big expenditure this month that I can think of unless we get any tradespeople! As work has essentially finished this term bar a possible couple of days for me tI plan to go through the food stores and ensure things are getting used
