Hiya Georgiana nice to have another turtle onboard. Loved the joke.Yesterday food shop spent £50 - food budget for the month £120 will avoid shops for a few weeks.Loaded up on veg so hopefully can shed a few lbs.Had a stressful walk yesterday who said it's supposed to help your mental health. Normal walk I take then found out cows in field I was in. Legged it over a stile into next one and there was sheep, thought yeah but then I realised they all had massive horns and near the next stile. Apparently they are a breed of sheep but I was in panic mode thinking they were rams. Hurdling over stiles soon got my heart rate up and did 10k steps. Perhaps I need sheep identification app ;-)Gutted last night, local band I follow a lot, one of members in his Thirties has decided to leave this world. So upset couldn't really concentrate on anything. Still emotional wreck thinking about someone struggling that much didn't ask for help. Seems younger men 20-40's this pandemic has affected more.Grateful forGoing to see my daughter next Friday after over a year, her isolation period ends then, so need a hug off her.Grandkids this weekend, booked local zoo to pop inbetween thunder/ lightening forecast.Music helping me when I down.Have a lovely weekend, be back here Monday .LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/225

hi all
So sorry to hear that Calling - the same situation happened this week to my friend's son, so desperately sad.
Your walk story made me laugh - glad you're ok ! I'm very scared of cowsI bet you cannot wait to see your daughter - i miss my DD2 and she's only 100 miles away at uni.
I looked at my budget last night and did a big gulp - got lots of big expenses with water rates, car insurance, holiday to pay for, second payment for self asst, Nat T membership. But like a good MSE turtle i have a plan - invoice has been submitted for my self employment so as long as that arrives in my bank by end of the month i'll be ok....
Work is very busy for a Friday & was hoping to finish early to go for a walk with my friend...
good suggestions mothernerd - i usually do "Boogie with Ball" on R2 on a Sunday morning which is great fun just to dance to one song - i should do that every day.....
Hope everyone is ok

Sorry to hear that news, Calling and Deni. We had a similar experience about ten years ago and Himself still hasn't got over it. It's just so devastating.
NSD No1
I had a parcel to return so Himself and I got up early, walked to the post office and spent a while wandering around admiring all the nice gardens. Met an old school friend of my son's whom we haven't seen for 16 years despite the fact that he lives less than a mile away.
Got my long list of things to do tomorrow at the ready.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
I have done nothing today, DS4 was doing his induction at Big School and I was, I don't know, not anxious, but could not settle to anything. He had a fab time, I found a gaggle of his mates looking lost after dropping him off, so pointed them in the right direction, then found another couple, and was able to tell them where to go as well. Then came home, made tea, and wasted the day on nonsense - did do a shopping trip for tins for the pantry. £17 spent, but it was all staples and will be useful. So sticking on NSD1.Came home with the kids put up the camp bed outside (why have a camp bed and a sun lounger when one does the job?) and read in a puddle of sunshine for an hour. Even got DH to come outside, and - total shocker- remove his jumper!! It was hot out there - 21+ degrees.Made an aquafaba pavlova which is doing its magic in the oven right now - I get that you need to cook it for 45 minutes, that is fine, but the not opening the oven door for an hour afterwards is absolute torture. I have been given masses of strawberries so it will be a strawberry topped pavlova in an hour. The kids totalled the pot of homemade strawberry jam I was given on Monday in 3 days. Nothing has time to go off in my house.Opened a bottle of 'Christmas Gin Liqueur' to try - bleugh! DH likes it, so he can take care of that. He looked pleased. The jumper has just made a reappearance4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Today I am grateful for the sunshine ripening a few of my strawbs, for finding not one but two available unloading spots in front of the two charity shops I had to visit, for no queue at n'wide so I could nip in to pay in a cheque and still be within my 20 mins, for sending a couple of important emails, for a lovely chat with a neighbour.

Hello turtles,
Here’s my stall for July...
I’m aiming for 10 NSDs. DS is off nursery and spending is far more likely.I’m a healthy eater when I think consciously about what I’m putting into my body. It’s not automatic though, and I do have to stop and think about it. I will keep trying to make better choices and maybe it’ll one day be a habit. Health is wealth. We’re still living on my part-time wage. I was saving underspends for a while there but I now need to put them back into our monthly budget if unused. It’s very frustrating not being able to save the way I did when we both had a steady monthly income. On a positive note, the surveys have given me a little something to feel good about. It’s only a few quid but it’s enough to satisfy my need to make mortgage OPs. Every £1 overpaid is a pound I’ll never pay interest on again!
Are we halfway through 2021 already?! I better get on with those New Years resolutions - haha! I’ll need to remind myself what they were!
YOU Need to DANCE. YES I DO!
I love a list and I like the idea of making a list of foods that lift my mood and support my immune system.Give thanks every day is one of the best things about NST. It is a daily reminder that there is always something to be grateful for every single day of our lives.

Another scorching day, thankfully I wasn't climbing a big hill today! Legs a bit achy from yesterday, but worth it.
Went to town with Mum, had a trawl of the charity shops. Didn't see much to buy so was a bit disappointed, but then it's saved me money instead! Did get a bottle of expensive aftershave for £1, so hubby was pleased. Did the big food shop afterwards, so should only need fresh food the rest of the month now.
Grateful for seeing the pattern appearing on the birthday present poncho I'm knitting, having a good time with mum, a beautiful sunset - you can't beat an Orkney sky!Use it up, wear it out
