Things that can affect your mood without you noticing
- the weather
- the media you consume
- what you ate
- how much you slept
- whether you've organised your thoughts
- how much you moved
Look at your hands
they have petted so many cute animals and dried so many tears
Look at your feet
they have walked you to some of your favourite places and walked you away from bad situations
Look at your legs
they have held you up when you thought you weren't strong enough to stand
Look at your belly
think of all the times it's been full and warm with your favourite foods
Look at your eyes
they have seen so many beautiful people
Look at your mouth
it has told so many people that you love them
Your body has been there for you since day 1
love it, it loves you

So the only two white actors in black panther are Martin Freeman, who played Bilbo Baggins in LotR, and Andy Serkis, who played Gollum
so I guess that means .... they're the Tolkien white guys

Jolly number 3 setting out her stall.
JUST – I am aiming for starting and restarting without giving myself a hard time if a wheel loses a spoke.
OVERVIEW= budget done, very cheap social events for me this month.
LOVE your body. Yoga, walking, good (cheap) nutritious food, and sleep, please!
LOOK at your relationship with food. This used to be a really big thing for me, lots of binging and sugary foods. In the man my relationship with food is pretty good these days, my relationship with wine, however, is a different matter.
YOU should pay to debt or savings first, live on what is leftover. Debt paid and overpaid. I am going to try for a run of w/c 12 July and NSD target for the month - 17
JOYFUL Movement. Love to walk to go places, but love an actual walk more.
OVERVIEW of the next six months. Welcome to the second half of 2021.Goals:
- Debt 50% off original debt (currently at 30%)
- Finish assignment and therefore my course at Uni
- I need to work out a longer term sustainable budget – for after 50% of debt gone and no debt (=Saving, and a bit generous in some areas of life), but until 2022, it's quite hardcore MSEing.
- 1 bottle of wine a week limit
YOU Need to DANCE. This is a great one, I have been struggling with this for sure, looking forward to a nightclub night soon.
FOCUS on being positive. Yes, and amen.
UNCERTAINTY is all around us. - yes it is, and some of it is alright.
LISTS. I have an aversion to lists, my mum wrote them and then was so overwhelmed by the content she would take herself off to bed for the weekend. I do make lists these days, and it is helpful to get things out of my head and on paper. Shopping lists I am ok at, and lists for a day.
JULY STAYCATION – I am mostly staying in – work and assignment, but definitely will be out for walks.
USE it or lose it. Declutter. – I am planning on sewing up my fabric stash by the end of the year.
LOOK forward. Boy, oh boy I am. But only if it is safe. Have some things planned. But will exercise caution.YOU should give thanks every day (gratitudes).

Well mothernerd I am kind of doing an upside down staycation - which is holiday at work - meaning I am doing other work, and not taking work home and treating my free time as holiday time. So I will have quite a busy staycation that starts tomorrow and runs until mid August - but only a week or two where I don't work at all, and then the madness doesn't really start again till mid September. The joy of teaching FE.
So what is happening today - went for a discounted swim, came back and had breakfast with ds1, came into work and so far I am looking for pictures to print up in my classroom.
Grateful for friendliness online and in real life.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

NST JOLLY JOYFUL JULY
JUST I heard a great phrase a little while ago, "if a thing is worth doing, it is worth doing badly". I struggle a lot with perfectionism and procrastination, so this month I am going to work on JUST taking some action even if I can't do it "perfectly".
OVERVIEW My budget is set for the month. July's "big" events and regular commitments blocked out in diary, I tend to fill in the details 1-2 weeks at a time for other stuff. Food audit is underway, meals for this week are sorted and tomorrow will be planning for next 2 weeks based mainly around what is in the freezer and cupboards.
LOVE your body. I'm building in more time for movement this month without going all in straight away and ending up injured or exhausted.
LOOK at your relationship with food. I feel like I have a PhD in this alreadyI have a long history of eating disorders and have done lots of therapy and work with dieticians over the years. Now I'm in a good place with food. I know that I will never "diet" again for my own sanity but I try to include lots of delicious fresh things in my diet where possible (much easier in summer, lots of home grown veggies!) and take care of the basics like making sure I eat proper meals, drink lots of water etc etc.
YOU should pay to debt or savings first DoneOne credit card that I'm chipping away at (will be done by Dec '21) and house deposit savings funded. Gradually growing my emergency fund. Short and mid-term savings goals (like haircuts and Christmas) pots filled for this month. BUT I've never done NSD challenge before and I want to work on this because even though I stick to my budget categories, there is a lot of 'mindless' spending within them. Aiming for 10 NSDs this month.
JOYFUL Movement. Love this idea! I am going to rediscover what kinds of movement bring joy, instead of the ones that I've been programmed into viewing as bringing results. Walking, swimming, dancing and yoga are up there - as is gym visits (but need to be careful this doesn't go into "results" territory)
OVERVIEW of the next six months. I'm doing a part-time professional degree course and have just gone into the final year! I have two assignments to submit by 3rd Sept, I want to get these 35% done by end of July.
I will then have an exam in January and an exam in June next year, so I need to build in study time.
I'm on the waiting list for driving lessons (huge backlog due to COVID) and hoping to buy a house early next year. These are big scary (expensive) milestones, so need to make sure I've got the support in place to do all the baby steps along the way.
YOU Need to DANCE. Building a playlist of dance classes on YouTube
FOCUS on being positive. So important and often overlooked. Focusing on the small pleasures instead of the big moments.
UNCERTAINTY Will continue to work on my emergency fund. Keeping my CV up-to-date (did a lot of work on it during Lockdown #1 last year), keep building my professional networks and up-to-date on developments in my field. Making an effort to connect with friends, family etc (even when it feels overwhelming) .
LISTS. Love lists! Will be right on this.
JULY STAYCATION I've got a long weekend "off" towards the end of July and so far, no plans. I will look at the suggestions
USE it or lose it. Decided to use up all the toiletries etc, make time to read all the books that were either gifts or impulse purchases in the 99p Kindle sale and "shop my wardrobe" and start wearing the stuff that has been in storage bags for nearly a year. While doing this, also deciding if I really need these things or if they can be resold, regifted or recycled
LOOK forward. I am trying to focus on the positives in the upcoming months, while keeping flexible so that I can adapt to changes. Making a big effort to honor certain commitments - sometimes it's 2 plans (one in person, and a distanced one if the first falls through)
YOU should give thanks every day (gratitudes). Blown the dust off my daily 'gratitude and reflection' diary ready to start today.

hi everyone
Just popping on to say hi to all turtles and also welcome @GeorgianaCavendish
i don't appear to have ever had a problem with perfectionism! At a previous job someone said to me "near enough is good enough " so that is my mantra along with "it's the art of the possible"
Be back later with a proper review of the month
