Catowen,
I know just what you mean about the kissing on the lips and hugging for too long, I have an 'uncle' (friend of my parents) who does this to me, full body hug with him pressing me into him, and too long kisses, eugh horrible, but you do wonder if its just your imagination. Familys can be a nightmare, I have a sister who is not speaking to me, for the second time in a year, because my DD would not give her one of her chips !! sister lost her temper and screamed the place down calling DD rude, she is not a rude child, and so I have decided to cut my losses, and not see her,(bit of a long story) I have to put my family first, as you do, you need to make sure your children are ok, and if that means telling your mum you will see her and not him then so be it.
Hugs to you, your kids sound fantastic, concentrate on them, and have the best christmas possible. xx
Kathy,
'I'm ashamed to say that I took DH's best hammer to the freezer! '
This really made me laugh, my OH has a 'best' hammer too, I use it all the time when he is at work, he never notices, but would be mortified if he knew half the things I did with it.
Well better do the online shopping

REDRUBY - I use lots of DH's tools - the chisels come in handy for lots of things, including lifting off manhole and drain covers, and the screwdrivers - he's got a really long screwdriver that he thinks is fantastic - all I know is that it's ideal for unblocking the sink. He tells people I'm useless with tools - I am, if he means using them for the correct purpose!

Catowen you are right to stand up to him it is so hard to be nice to people that are treating the ones you love badly i did it for my sister for 17 years
xx big hugs to you
welcome Miss Eyre its nice here0 -
Morning everyone.
Catowen, huge hugs to you, what a awful weekend you have had, i am one of the people on here that have nothing to do with my mum or dad now (due to my mum not allowing him to see us), and it is hard at first but i have managed to get through it, i realise my kids and myself are better off without them in my life and the problems they used to cause. They still go around telling lies about me to everyone but i dont care anymore, i know the truth and so do the kids so i just get on with having a happy life without them, its their loss not ours.
Keep your chin up this guy sounds like a creep and you know best whats right for you and the kids.
Im just plodding along with the usual jobs, been food shopping, now having a good tidy and working my way throught the washing.
Hope you are all ok

Nice to see you!
Pink winged
When my DD was little she could not pronounce scrambled so this phrase is firmly fixed in family lore and we still use it. It does confuse her friends though!
Catowen
Sorry about what happened with your mum but I cannot believe she could see you being insulted in your own home and say nothing.
Have a nice Christmas with your "real" family and be prepared to pick up the pieces when he finally oversteps the mark enough that she cannot help but realise it.
Still not had a phone call from the lawers so off to wash my hair - bet the phone rings while I am in the shower."This site is addictive!"

Hello everyone:santa2: (i too shall have a waving santa charlies mum!)
Yesterdays trip to the Terracotta Army was good!! Its not a large exhibition, but they really are amazing to see! Cant believe how many things the emperor had stashed away underground! There were 7000 warriors, horses, carriages, birds, musicians etc  thanks grannybroon for the pics! I really would prefer to see them in their orignal place too! Quite glad that they have decided NOT to open the main buriel chamber and leave him in peace!
BUT what a large scale project to have done for your passing!
Back to reality.....washing is on, and so is TD:rolleyes: Ive got some fish out the freezer for fish pie for tea I think. Need to do some hoovering and ironing.
Kids have their Nativity this week - my DD is doing a firework dance with her nursery and DS1 is playing "Angel Gabriel" in his (his name is Gabriel) poor thing I wonder how many times they will make him play that part!! :rotfl:
Plus we have been practicing the xmas songs, oo I love them!!! plus its the christmas carol concert this sunday at the church with mince pies and mulled wine afterwards!!!:D
