Keith, just a couple of questions on the forms they sent me.

The N1 is just for information - stating what their claim is & the amount claimed (£262.20)

The 1st Response form is the N9SDT, where I intend to defend ALL the claim, so I know what to tick & I will be posting that off.

The 2nd Response form is the N9B SDT - which refers to Defence & Counterclaim. I don't wish to counterclaim any amount (partial or full) - I don't want anything from them, so I just hold on to that?  Or is this the Defence form that you referred to in your early reply that needs to be completed and submitted by 17th Oct 22?

Complete it but do not fill in the Defence section with your Defence. Put nothing at all in that box, not even a full stop, otherwise that becomes you 'defence'. The reasons why you do not use that box are explained in the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, second post.

Instead, your Defence will be constructed separately and converted to a pdf file and attached to an email before the deadline that @KeithP has provided you.

But you don't post anything off.

You need to read the Template Defence thread and the NEWBIES thread section on AOS which takes you page by page (in pictures) through acknowledging online.

Where did you read anything about 'posting off' anything?

I don't think I ever referred to any 'Defence form'.

You really do need to read the replies you are given.

Hi Keith

I've got about 9 days to submit my defence to the email address you have provided and I have all my bits of evidence collected.  I have gone through this Template defence thread:-

When I type up my defence, I assume I do it in something like Microsoft WORD, so copy and paste the template and then edit/personalise it in Word?  Do I have to convert it into a PDF myself before emailing it to the CCBCAQ address? What about evidence such as any photographs or scans that I wish to submit?  Also converted in PDF format?  I don't have a physical scanner but I have a scanner app if that is any help? I am feeling quite confident about my chances BUT not so confident about the above process.Thanks

Your defence is sent as a .pdf so it cannot be altered.  Your evidence does not go with the defence but with the witness statement later in the process.  When you show us your defence here for critique, just show paragraphs 2 & 3 (and any you add) but then add the rest of the template back in before you send to CCBC.

Thanks, I'll post that in a couple of days. So just paras 2 & 3 - having scanned through paragraphs 4-27, I can just leave those as they are in the template i.e I don't have to add anything to them in my final copy?

Correct, unless you add more paragraphs, in which case you need to renumber the others
