Orange Retention Offers

They're offering a dock worth £130 to existing customers upgrading to the Atrix, I'd phone them back and ask where/what it is
I got the multimedia dock, but would rather have got the lapdock that the rep said was included.
Update:
Spoke to Orange and they actually tracked down the rep I spoke to and she admitted that she offered me the lapdock in error. Couldn't squeeze anything else out of them so am sending the Atrix back and will buy it again online as the deal was better. Only had the Atrix for 3 days but I'm missing it already, it's a very nice phone. Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0 -
Hi guys, just thought I'd share my experience with Orange from earlier today and ask for your thoughts/advice
My current contract is a £25 a month, 600 mins, 500 texts, 500MB data, and got a HTC Hero (back in the day) for £100 for a 24 month term, and I'm now within the upgrade period.
I rang Orange up today and without doing any haggling was offered £25 a month contract, 300 mins, Unlimited texts, 500MB data and an Atrix for £100 on an 18 month term (or or free if I took another 24 month contract, which I don't want to do) .
This looks like an ok offer to me, but I can't spend that much money on a phone right now and the rep (although incredibly friendly) wouldn't budge, he even quote some numbers at me and told me there needed to be room for them to make profit. (Though I might ring back tomorrow and ask for them to throw in a multimedia/lap dock to sweeten the deal)
I guess my question is, this was just the upgrades department, and this was quite a good deal. Do they still have a policy of putting you through to retentions if I say I want to leave after my contract is up, where I can get a better deal? The problem is I don't think I'd be able to use the excuse "I can get a better deal elsewhere" as this is pretty ,much as good as it gets as as far as I can tell.
Any advice greatly appreciated, cheers.0 -

If you can't spend that much money there doesn't seem much point in haggling for extra equipment. Better trying to get a better bundle deal.
18 months ago I got a free Hero, 700 minutes, unlimited free landlines, 300 texts and 500 data for £20 so your offer doesn't seem that great to me. I would go straight to retentions.0 -

Just been offered:
Motorola Atrix free
300minutes
Unlimited Texts
500mb Internet
£20 per month
I think it's a good deal considering the phone, any opinions?
I'm tempted by the talkmobile offer of £18 per month for the Samsung Galaxy. I then thought I'd wait as the S2 is due out. Never heard of this Motorola phone but sounds interesting and I will do further research.0 -

Has anyone got any stories/success with Orange Retentions department, as there doesnt seem to be a thread.
My question is what did they offer you and when?
Mid of '09, when my contract was up for renewal, I threatened to leave and retentions offered me a loyalty 18 month package: new phone, same package as above (plus an extra 200 mins each month) but online statements only for £10.00 per month (VAT inclusive). Needless to say I grabbed it.
Fast forward to end of '10, my contract was up for renewal again and they were going to revert back to the standard equivalent cost of £25 for the same package; I threatened to leave (again!) and they offered to keep my existing deal of £10 per month for another 18 months:
300 mins any time any network, plus an extra 200 loyalty minutes
Unlimited landline calls
Unlimited texts, also
500 MB free internet usage for life of contract
New Sony Ericsson Elm (though fairly standard, but who cares!)
Need I say what my response was?0 -

If they gave the the multimedia dock, I'd probably sell it, bringing the phone down to an effective price I'd be prepared to pay for it.18 months ago I got a free Hero, 700 minutes, unlimited free landlines, 300 texts and 500 data for £20 so your offer doesn't seem that great to me. wow, was that a new contract? Mine was, I tried haggling but quickly realised I had nothing to bargain with so settled for £80 cashback from tcb0 -
It was a renewal - been with them a long time.0

I've just been offered:
Motorola Atrix w/ free work&play kit.
500 mins.
Unlimited text.
500 mb internet & email.
£50 for the handset.
£30 p/m.
Is that a decent deal? Or should I haggle further?0
