How long before end of contract were you offered this?
I can upgrade next month when I'm down to the last 3 months and wouldn't be disappointed at all to get this.

I'm paying £25 for the racoon package at the moment, but don't get any data allowance, very rarely go over spend either.

it was up to be fair. So I would have walked away

  • Contract is up for renewal (after 18 months). Phoned up retentions last night and got a very bored sounding representative on the phone. Was offered 400 minutes, unlimeted texts and internet for £15 a month with the option of paying either £150 for a Samsung Galaxy S, or £100 for an HTC Desire.
Or if I wanted I could get a Blackberry Bold 9700 for £20. Didn't take any of them because I didn't really want to pay for a phone, and the person frankly put me right off.
After reading on here what people have managed to get, I think I will try again tonight.

The 9700 is due to be replaced soon, and the Blackberry Torch is also due for launch next month. Was the Bold a £20 one off for the handset on a £15 contact? If so thats a great deal

Sorry for being thick, but whats retentions?

Is it a department you asked to be put through to?

Yes, its a department that basically SHOULD offer you a slightly better deal than if you was a new customer as you could leave them and take your business else were!

So to get through to them I choose the 'if you are thinking of leaving orange' option?

I am finally saying goodbye to a ROTTEN Orange.

Their retention department for an Iphone or HTC Desire seems more like a disconnection department and a dead end. I have recently being following the offers on their networks for upgrades and rentions (for an iphone or 3GS) and Orange seems to be worst.

Poor reception and poor retentins on the iphone 8GB 3GS/HTC Desire is forcing me to leave.

What sort of deals do you expect exactly? There are no deals on the iPhone full stop and the HTC Desire has been far more successful than anyone expected, they aint short of people wanting one, so you wont get that for cheap either.
