Hi as Parkyp says do a belt and braces job and cancel your direct debit.  There is no reason why your credit score should be affected and if this continues you can put in a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman  for the stress of them taking unsolicited amounts and then not refunding your promptly.
    Thanks Jan,

I’ve  contacted them again today and they’ve said it will close on the 19th. They’ve assured me that they’ve cancelled the direct debit abs they opened a complaint for me being in my overdraft as a result of them taking the money.

    thanks both,

    Xx

This refund business is a right hassle for you.  I hope they are true to their word and get it sorted soon.  I'm not sure what sort of financial institution you're dealing with but I was totally gobsmacked a couple of years ago to receive an unsolicited message from Lloyds apologising for some oversight resulting in their over taking of payments (which I hadn't even been aware of at the time).  They not only apologised but gave me a totally unexpected and unasked for sum of money to compensate. You might end up with a nice surprise too once it's all sorted.

I would be happy with the fees back for the overdraft! I’m not sure what they are yet. That will be on the 1st x

  • Morning,

Up and doing already. I’ve packaged the eBay up and I’m about to start the mammoth ironing pile. Got washing in and will need to go out and get paint at some point.

I’ll hopefully be able to clean out the rabbits if the weather holds off.

My friend is visiting later to get us a takeaway. I’ve been helping him out a lot with selling stuff and last night a number of items sold so he’s offered a takeaway to say thank you.

Money is ok. Waiting for refund abs I’ll be buying paint, but it’s ok.

    Morning, busy bee this morning.
I’m watching my lottery dream home and I’m dreaming 🤣

That’ll be nice having takeaway later - you’ve doing well with eBay at the moment even with the annoying buyer x

    Those houses are gorgeous.

eBay is okay. He is doing well. 4 sold and after fees abs postage he’ll be around £170 up. I sold a few bits for him earlier in the year and got around £60 then. I think I’ll be selling a lot more for him as he sorts through his bits.

It’s my birthday on Friday so think this will be my treat as well x

Well done on the eBay success and good for you doing it to help someone else.  I hate listing stuff even when it's my own and absolutely needs to go.  The thought of doing someone else's listing would drive me mad!hair

I hope your takeaway was nice.

It's my birthday later this month too but, unlike you, the older I get the harder I try to ignore itdropjaw

Thanks, he’s very grateful which is nice. I don’t mind most of his things as they sell quite well and a couple of questions but not much.

Takeaway was lovely. It was a takeaway restaurant that I’ve never had before and we were both impressed. It was a little more expensive than the standard but it was restaurant food and he said it’s one of the best burgers he’s had.

There were things in the house I couldn’t do either with my shoulder so he helped me get the TV off the wall and the spare room moved back after the radiator was fitted.

The decorator started today and the living room is starting to look so much fresher. He should be fine in there tomorrow and the kitchen should also be freshened up.

Carpet will hopefully be fitted next week as well. I’m reliant on him to organise that as well. It’s his friend that is fitting it.

Money seems ok. Still owed the refund but they did say that might be later this week. That will pay for the carpet.

He does ride a bike but he’s not the friend I’ve been out riding with, no. It’s an old work colleague x
