Loving the fireplace!  Looks like you can turn your hand to everything, Willow.  I thought I was pretty handy and resourceful but you put me to shame xx
Anything is possible with a little bit of you tube and  google images! I am sure everyone can do things they need to. I don’t have a choice so I just have to
do everything ! I’d love to pass the book occasionally! X
Yeah, good old YouTubeyay.  It's my 'go to' place for finding out how to do anything.  I must have saved a fortune over the years by doing things myself and not having to pay a tradesman. DH is pretty handy but he's always busy and tends to let things lapse.  I get accused of nagging if I keep asking him to fix things so it's easier and less hassle to spend  a bit of time on YouTube and then fix things myself.  I was fed up with the kitchen taps dripping. Went on for weeks and they were getting worse. It was bad enough  with just the cold one doing it but once the hot tap started it was wasting all the hot water.  In the end, after several 'reminders' to DH and nothing happening I watched YouTube, bought some washers on eBay which came the next day and did it myself.  No problem at all and I didn't flood the kitchenthumbsup.  I never even told DH I was doing it.  All he said one day was ' looks like those taps have stopped dripping' as if it had happened by magic.  I said nothing.
    😂

id have not shut up about the fact I’d done it!! It used to annoy my ex no end that I’d done it. X

Problem with that strategy in our house is that DH is likely to begin feeling he's totally excused doing the small. niggly jobs that I can take on. He hordes every bit and piece that he thinks will come in handy one day for replacing or repairing stuff  so as far as I'm concerned he can get on with it and use some of them up!  The tap washers were a case in point.  Despite him replacing washers umpteen times over the years he seemed to put this job on hold for weeks.  One of his excuses was that he couldn't find his washers.  Might be true, he'd had a total 'sort out' of the sheds etc during lockdown and everything was in more chaos than before.  Easier for me to get a pack of new ones on eBay(it was during lockdown when shops were all shut) and  they were so cheap. We've still some spare for any other future tap jobs (which is one job that I will do  myself again without even asking him to do it first).

Just want to jump in to give a big pat on the back to Royal Mail (a very rare event!).  I posted 2 parcels late morning on Saturday from a rural post office and although they only went 2nd Class (they were heavier than I expected and I'd offered free postage as a quick sale to get rid of the items was more important to me than making a huge profit) they were both delivered early Monday morning in parts of the country very distant to us.  They both gave me brilliant feedback so I'm really happy.  Not many of my postal experiences have been so fortunate though!

The guy at our delivery office is fantastic and I have no doubt he’s searched high and low for it. It’s just one of those things.

My ex would do things but again it was slow and at his own pace. It’s easier now on my own as I know what needs doing and it’s just me to do it!

  • I can’t sleep!

My bank is well overdrawn as the last bills go out, but it wouldn’t  be if I hadn’t been charged by the old loan. It’s really hard to not be frustrated as I’d tried so hard this month and the balance was great between spending and paying until they took the payment. I have enough due to pay off the overdraft abs to live for the week without being in my overdraft.

They said they’d sort it this week but I’m still waiting. It was Monday when I phoned. I might phone tomorrow and tell them they’ve put me in my overdraft as they shouldn’t have taken it and they said that on the phone.

Quiet weekend planned this weekend. Just looking forward to relaxing after DDs football match!

At least it’s not your fault that your overdrawn. It is really bad on the company though, what would have happened if you didn’t have an overdraft facility x

It will be ok. They’re offering a bank account for money so might try that one! X

    Morning,

Had a bit of a spurt this morning when I got up. The hoover was upstairs so I decided to Hoover upstairs and the stairs and the continued downstairs too. I’ve put the washing on and came to build a nest of tables but they’ve arrived damaged so they will be returned this weekend.

DD has a football match this morning and then we’re going shopping so I can rest for the remainder of today.

She has popcorn in for a film this afternoon so that will be good. I’ll light my candles and have a chill out on the sofa with her.

I’ve got the decorator coming this weekend to see what needs doing and then he’ll be starting on the 18th. That will give me half term to sort out some bits that need sorting out. I’ll hopefully be getting a new carpet then as this one is just ruined. I have a friend who knows someone so he said he’ll be able to do it for me and it won’t cost as much as in the shops. I already have the accessories I want from last year, and the fireplace is painted ready so it’s just a case of booking things in now.

Still waiting on the refund. They’ve said next week. I’d be well out of my overdraft if they hadn’t taken the money so it is frustrating as I’d worked hard this month and barely spent anything.

The awful toilet smell has gone so sealing it worked. At least that’s one less thing to worry about now.

Work is a bit of a nightmare at the minute. So many people are off sick it’s unreal. Just having to cover all the time and it’s not getting any better. I hope it improves soon.

Morning, its great when you wake up full of energy like that and just get stuck in.
Your living room will be looking nice for Christmas (is it to early to mention that 🤫)

Ive just walked to Tesco got soaked, so an afternoon on the sofa sounds good to me to.

My sister works in an additional needs school there is so many staff off that they can only open the school for half days. Luckily the schools are now off for a week to hopefully they’ll be back to normal when they return.
    Enjoy your day x
