Think it is starting to look a lot more modern now. It needs another few coats but it’s getting there. Can’t wait for it to be finished now.

It was a cream marble and chrome fire. Just wanting to modernise it now and with the new wallpaper it will be great. I’m going to get a darker carpet too. X

Loving the fireplace!  Looks like you can turn your hand to everything, Willow.  I thought I was pretty handy and resourceful but you put me to shame xx

Lots of sorting today. Cancelled bike insurance at a cost of £52 😕 that’s £30 saving a month though so it’ll recoup in two months time.

Rang old loan and the information on the app was wrong. I’m only owed a little bit more than a monthly payment so I’m due back around £290. DD needs skins as she was cold and wet on Saturday. It’s cost around £30 for a decent set but it’ll prevent her getting cold.

It’s nice to have the balance this month of debt paying and the treats for DD.

Got some new spray paint and I think 🤞🏻I have covered it up now and it’s ready to be decorated. I hope so anyway!

Anything is possible with a little bit of you tube and  google images! I am sure everyone can do things they need to. I don’t have a choice so I just have to
do everything ! I’d love to pass the book occasionally! X

Yeah, good old YouTubeyay.  It's my 'go to' place for finding out how to do anything.  I must have saved a fortune over the years by doing things myself and not having to pay a tradesman. DH is pretty handy but he's always busy and tends to let things lapse.  I get accused of nagging if I keep asking him to fix things so it's easier and less hassle to spend  a bit of time on YouTube and then fix things myself.  I was fed up with the kitchen taps dripping. Went on for weeks and they were getting worse. It was bad enough  with just the cold one doing it but once the hot tap started it was wasting all the hot water.  In the end, after several 'reminders' to DH and nothing happening I watched YouTube, bought some washers on eBay which came the next day and did it myself.  No problem at all and I didn't flood the kitchenthumbsup.  I never even told DH I was doing it.  All he said one day was ' looks like those taps have stopped dripping' as if it had happened by magic.  I said nothing.

  • I need to straighten one of my kitchen cupboards and when my partner said: “ oh it’s tricky balancing cupboard doors” I took it as my cue to go on YouTube and watch some videos to teach myself how to do it!
