    Morning

Your dinner for tonight sounds nice.
Sometimes you just need some time to yourself.
I’ve started picking up somethings for Christmas when I see on offer. (Still have 6 birthdays before then)
I don’t buy my nieces n nephews present. I just give them money which is already in the wallets. This year I’ll buy the wallets but they are for next year and I write them out fill them during the year and seal them.

Good news about claiming mileage x

I’ve cut right back who I buy for. Only close family now and DD gets the majority. Think that’s what needed to happen.

That’s a really good idea about buying and sealing the envelopes through the year. I’d do that too but I don’t give any of them money X

  • Weekend over! It goes so quickly.

I have Mondays as my admin day now so no pressure for me now. It’s great as I can go where I need to be and do what I need to do.

I consolidated my credit card and loan today at the same lower rate so feeling much better that I’m over paying just one thing and not focussed on several. I am feeling very happy with this as the payment starts in over a month so I have a month ‘free’ but that will mean I already overpay a month before it starts. It’s all massive progress. 12 more months will see me in a much stronger position financially.

I wanted to celebrate by buying a new wealth planning diary with budget. But decided that wasn’t worth it. I’m a couple of months, the diaries all reduce to next to nothing so I’ll get one then.

    X

  • Predictably I’m back at work and less posting!

I got paid on Wednesday and a lot of bills have gone out. Debt paying is just over £200 but I’m holding off any more until the 2nd October when the rest of the bills are out.

I needed some more expensive items so got washing tablets, toilet roll and shampoo in bulk as usual. £48 and that will last me at least three months for washing and probably 6 months toilet rolls. I always buy like this as it is so much cheaper. I’ll need rabbit food as well this week.

DD has a football match tomorrow, and then I need to return something on Sunday. I have to pick up shopping tomorrow too so sticking to the budget as much as I can.

  • Morning,

Currently trying to amend my track order but the internet is intermittent so it’s turned into a nightmare task. The page keeps crashing. If it dies it again, I’ll use the 4g on my phone.

I’ve bought my sister a bottle of wine to thank her for helping with DD this week. I had no childcare for the later half of the week so my mum and sister helped out. It still comes in at £30 though so that’s good.

DD has football this morning. Tomorrow I’ll need to return her school shoes as they’re rubbing. She only had them on one day and ive had to go back to the previous pair.

She does need some black leggings, a hoodie and some new trainers so I’ll be making a trip to a shop to get them. I had 5 pairs of black leggings and all of them have developed a hole. Mostly from DD falling over. I need a pair of leggings too so will buy myself a pair. I don’t want to spend too much.

I’m trying really hard to not spend over and above anything I need. It’s only been a few days but by now I’ve usually spent something on something I want but don’t need. I’m holding out for the diary to be reduced still and will likely now get that with any birthday money I get. I usually get a few pounds off relatives (I’m not assuming I totally will but if I do, it can buy that).

I’ve done two loads of washing. One is just about to go on the line the other has been drying. I’ve packed up the DVDs to be posted and cleared up the kitchen making sure bins are emptied. Rabbits are in the main garden and fed and I’ve packed DDs football bag ready to go.

I spent over an hour chatting to my friend last night. We talked about the world and a lot of things. His life has led him all over and he’s so far travelled compared to me. I love listening to his stories of different countries. We’ve talked about travelling and I’m hoping we will visit a few places.

Have a lovely Saturday everyone x

Awe that’s so annoying about dd shoes.
It’s turned out sunny this afternoon so I’ve got the washings out to.
Nice to have some adult chat in the evening x

  • Had a lovely day today. DD's football match went really well. They won 9-1 in the end. DD played a few minutes each half to build up her confidence. She helped with a goal so was so happy with herself.

She was smiling from ear to ear the whole time she played and another parent commented on how she is always smiling. I think that is pretty much every parent there that has mentioned it! She loves it.

I have washed my bedding, DD's bedding, the clothes for the week and had them all out and dry. I now have a huge ironing pile  I don't iron bedding, but her uniform soon stacks up. My work clothes aren't so bad as they seem to dry quite straight.

Shopping was picked up and came to £31. That includes the wine for my sister for helping out. That was £5. I got DD some leggings, a hoodie and some trainers for her PE at school and then a jacket that she loved. I then got myself some leggings. £61 spent. Her leggings were a three pack and mine a two pack so think we should be okay for a couple of months at least.

DD has a hyper jar card now (thanks for the recommendation). She used it today to buy herself a couple of things. Made me smile that she was at the till using her own card! I promised her £5 for football if she tried her best but she wanted the jacket instead. It was £16 so think she got the better deal!

An item has sold on ebay. I am waiting payment but I have stamps so once they pay I will use the stamps I already have. I've seen some clothes that I like as well. I would normally have bought them but i'm due some vouchers as well as birthday so think I can happily put that to one side and use them. I am really trying to get on top of my budget. It is only a few days in, but i'm desperate to get it right this month.

Enjoying a nice beer now in the garden and watching the sun go down. I have breakfast and tea sorted for tomorrow and DD has asked for lunch out at the place I am returning her shoes. I have told her she can have it.

I am also getting a lot of enquiries for tutoring so just sorting out what availability I have. I have three who aren't with me but have asked for slots at some point. I'm holding them but that then means that I don't have income coming in whilst I wait for them to confirm. That isn't really fair so going to give it a few weeks and then will have to give the slot away.

    Enjoy Saturday everyone x

  • Hopefully everyone is having a lovely Sunday.

I took the shoes back and exchanged them for boots for DD. Bought her lunch, we had a coffee together and I also bought my mum and dad a little chocolate to thank them for their help with childcare last week.

I got some sleep help natural remedies that I’ve been Googling. I’m not sleeping well with the shoulder pain and the pain relief that works leaves me groggy so I’ve got a natural remedy to try to ease the sleep issue abs also is a natural pain relief. Hopefully it will help. All was planned spends so nothing I wasn’t expecting. The boots were £7 more than the shoes but that’s fine. The shoes they gave her were half a size too small which is why they rubbed.

I’m currently cooking tea and it smells delicious. I love it when I have the opportunity to cook.

Physio tomorrow followed by work. Another busy week.

I’ve looked into selling my bike too. I love it but can’t get out on it as much as I want. DD is always with me and I also have my shoulder. I’m not committed to selling it but will see.

    Have a lovely evening x

It's a pity you aren't getting much use out of your bike especially as this was supposed to be the summer (although it certainly hasn't seemed much like it weatherwise) and there'll be even less opportunities for you to ride it once the dark and frosty winter hits us.  It must be very difficult juggling your work schedule and DD with her very active social/sporting life in order to find a bit of 'you' time.  I know you've had so much pain and inconvenience with your shoulder and I hope it's not a permanent state of affairs.  Maybe if you hang onto the bike for now until you feel more physically comfortable.  It's always a tricky situation though, finding the optimum time to sell things like bikes and cars isn't it?  Did you have a big outlay on kit for your biking such as clothes?  Would you be able to sell them too or have to take a loss?

I'm having very serious thoughts about selling my car and not replacing it. I love my car and have always driven a lot but I'm having sight problems that are definitely permanent  and will only get worse over time.  I've lost my confidence on the road as I have to use really heavy-duty eyedrops every day which cause blurred vision which recurs sporadically throughout the day.  DH has a car and I'm a named driver on his insurance should i ever need to drive it but for one thing it's much newer and more expensive than mine and I'd be scared of damaging it!  Also, it's a big 4x4and I hate the driving position being only 5ft 1 myself. Everything's adjustable but I can never get it just right somehow.   Part of me doesn't want to relinquish my independence by having no car of my own but it's just stuck there at the moment depreciating by the day.  The thought of having to ask DH to run me everywhere brings me out in a cold sweat.  He's willing enough but isn't always available and he isn't very patient hanging round waiting for me to do stuff when we go anywherehair. Sadly we have no public transport here, the nearest bus is a 3 mile walk away and that's only a sporadic service anyway.

Sorry to whinge and sound so moany .  I'm always up early and today I'm listening for the Asda delivery which should be here anytime now.  I like to get an early delivery slot but have never had one when it's not even fully daylight yet. Our lane is unlit and if it isn't a regular driver he'll probably be unable to find the housedoh.  Have a nice day xxx

    Thank you,

By next year I’m hoping to have fully passed and then will be looking at a bigger bike. I was so hoping I’d get out so much but with DD and her dad not really taking her out then it’s become something I look at wishfully. This winter will be it just sat there depreciating like your car.

The equipment I have is fine as I can use it with my friend or save it for next year when I am learning to pass my main test and the other bike.

Sorry about your eyes and how you are feeling. Must be hard as it is your independence as well and I don’t think I’d like to give that up.

in other news my sister has offered to take DD to and from school on Thursdays and Fridays. I’d pay her a nominal amount but it wouldn’t be close to the money I currently pay. My mum is doing Mon-wed already so that would be my childcare bill gone pretty much. It’s something worth considering
