Three years to get debt free

Hi everyone,
My neck/back/shoulder/ arm is still causing me pain so I’ve not done anything today. I’d normally have gone out and built the drainage but I’ve just rested.I checked my cash back account as I knew I’d had some pending and to my surprise £58 was in there. I’ve transferred it to my bank so that should be in there in the next few days.£133 got paid today from a few sales and I have a few things ending over the next 5 that will hopefully bring in a few extra pounds. All will go off the loan.XSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Morning everyone. I managed to dig out some of the front border last night. Not a lot but just enough to see how it would go and it’ll be fine to do and should be completed in the next week. I just need to go out and buy the bark and stones.I’ve paid £100 off the loan this morning. Once the other bits sell, I’ll pay off some more. I aiming for two extra payments per month on top of my my normal one. That’s £573 a month extra. It’ll mean I cut back on shopping and my special food for my intolerances but will be totally worth it. I’ve also factored in not paying anything extra for the Christmas month. If I do this and stay focussed, I’ll be loan free by May.So far this month, I’ve cleared £1042 of debt. Hoping to have this at £1300 by payday on the 15th.September 2017 Debt = £25330

We've tried all sorts of DIY remedies over the years but I suspect with the likelihood of more and more wet seasons according to climate-change experts it's something we'll have to get used to or fork out big time to have some sort of permanent work done.
You're doing so well with your sales. I love a good carboot sale myself but this year it just isn't going to happen. I just want to see the back of much of the cleared out clutter and roped in DH to pack his car and do a charity shop run in various towns locally. A lot of driving and petrol wasted only for him to bring most of it back again! So many of the charity shops are turning away all donations at the moment. It's a shame as some of it was really good stuff but too much to list and sell separately and anyway I'd like to give something to charities as they've all lost such a lot of income during the pandemic. Your plan to sell job lots is sound, good luck with it.
Sorry to hear you're still having problems with your shoulder. My back is still giving me no end of trouble and the pain has lessened a bit but I'm having to do everything so gingerly. I must have definitely OD'd on the strong painkillers and they have ceased to have any effect. I keep putting off going to see the GP. It's a rural practice and a nightmare trying to get an appointment from the Gestapo who man the reception desk!.
Have you been out having fun on your new bike yet?
it’s a worry but hopefully easy to sort out. I’d have done it today but this shoulder/arm is just not right. I haven’t been out on the bike at all with it as it just hurts and takes away the experience. Sorry to hear you’re in pain too. I’ve had tough experiences with the receptionists as well but the last few have been ok once I’ve explained that I’m under the hospital. It’s easy to get used to the pain relief and then it dies stop working. Hopefully they can give you something that will help?
It’s a shame about the charity things. Could you not put together a job lot to sell? Lots of people in my area collect job lots for car boots and then they do them. I know I don’t make as much money but when you factor in your time then it ends up worth it for me to simply just put together and let someone else do.X
The pain relief I'm using is the strongest I could get without a prescription but I know the GP would be able to give me something more 'heavy duty' I'll see how I feel after the weekend and then maybe bite the bullet and go in to make an appointment instead of doing it on the phone. Might have more success that way.
In the past I've put together large 'lots' of assorted stuff and given it away on Freecycle. The trouble is being very rural a lot of people just never turn up to collect. It's free after all and usually pretty good stuff so I can't understand why they go to the trouble to set a time that's convenient to them, get the directions to find us and then just never show. If I put a job lot together to sell I suspect the same would happen. Unless they paid in advance of course, in which case they'd turn up to collect. Most people prefer to pay once they've examined the goods if they come in person. I'd need things light enough/small enough to post/courier to the buyers if I did it via eBay. It's times like this that I wish we lived closer to civilization!
I meant to say the other day, what a sweet and kind person you are for sending the changing mat to the lady who was selling the ring.

The Drs will definitely be able to give you something better. It helped me sleep which then made me feel a lot better during the day so from that perspective just gave me what I needed to be able to function properly.
I will be out on the bike soon! I can't wait. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Some months will be next to nothing and others a bit more. This month I had some higher value items to sell. I have a couple that will still go but this is the only reason I was able to pay off so much.
I will be selling the good bits of DD's old uniform in the next few weeks too. That will bring in the odd bit to replace with new sizes.

Morning everyone,
Had two very lovely experiences yesterday. I was trying to sort out the stuff to go on my new drainage system at the front. I found some stones in a local supermarket and one of the assistants came over to me and offered to help put them in my trolley. He then escorted me to the car and put them in the boot for me. I have never had this at all before!
Then in the big garden centre store, I had three huge bags of bark and was struggling to get them out of the trolley and into the car. A man came over and offered to help me. When I looked, he hadn't even finished packing up his own car but had come to help me do mine. I was so grateful to both of them as I was struggling with my arm.
Needless to say the drainage border is now complete with bark and stones and flower pots from the garden. I spent yesterday resting and doing it. I have a 100l bag of bark that I can use in the back garden but have left it in the garage for now. It looks nice having a border at the front and when it heavy rains, I will see how effective it now is. I celebrated with a glass of rose fizz last night after DD had gone to bed.
Yesterday DD did sports club and then she went trampolining afterwards. She was really tired and is still a bit tired this morning so will be resting today. She has swimming in the morning as her class has changed and she has moved up to the final swimming stage now. She only started swimming around 2 years ago and with the lockdown all taking place, she has done incredibly well to get to the last stage already. She will be a while in this stage which is fine as she needs to learn the more complicated things now. I am so proud of her.
I have found a ring that I love. I am going to see for my birthday and ask my mum to put to to get it. She never knows what to get me and I don't want to front the whole cost myself. It's got a bow on it and it is simply beautiful.
I currently have 8 items on a selling site.
I am owed £65 from the friend who bought two items (They will pay they are just away)
1 has a £16 bid
1 has a £200 bid
1 is around £2.
I am hoping this helps me hit the £1300 paying off target. Part of me thinks I should just by the ring with some of it!
£58 from cashback is due in my account and £84 next weekend. I will need both of these to keep me out of my overdraft. I might need another bit of it as well as I have bought the garden bits. This is stop water getting into the house though so an absolute necessary spend. I know what I am like though and working this hard to pay stuff out is something I can never sustain. I will hit the £1300 and then absolutely treat DD and I otherwise I know I will lose focus and now I have this momentum, I don't want to.
Will get out chicken wings for tea tonight. DD loves them and it will be a bit of a mini treat tea.
Enjoy everyone. Will update later as some sales are due to end. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Morning, That was really nice of guys to help you. Well done on getting the border sorted, it must look lovely and also solves the drainage issue at the same time. Hope your arm isn’t feeling painful today. Well done to dd on her swimming, I always think is something all kids should learn, I didn’t learn to swim until I was about 12/13.
You have done very well with your debt this month.
Enjoy your chicken wings tea tonight x

it does look nice but I’m still waiting for a heavy down pour to see if it holds the rain back! We will see.I’m having a cooked chicken now. I got it from a shop and will be eating it soon. Easy to do. DD likes the leg and underside so she’ll be enjoying that.I got a nice rum flavoured beer earlier. Will see what it’s like.Hope you’re ok? XSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Afternoon all,
I did some garden stuff today. My front has a ton of bushes on it and they grow right out and block the pavement. My parents have helped me trim them back. I have four pink bins full! Thankfully my neighbours have all lent me there’s! I still have a long way to go with it as it just goes wild in the summer. I’ve kept a load because of the birds but it’s preventing people walking on the pavement so needed drastic action. Next week once the bins are empty, we will do more. One item fold for £18. Those that read my old diary will remember the rucksack saga with my ex. I bought it from him for £40. He took it back for months but then returned it last week having not paid saying he didn’t want it. It’s that that sold. I’m massively down from it but at least I’ve got some money back.Other items have a couple of bids but they’re ending in the next few days.I’ve spent some money today. I got some bath items and rabbit food and other bits. Total spend of around £20. I’m going to return the bark tomorrow as it’s £9.50 that I won’t use again. I don’t need it and might as well get £9.50 back.Have a lovely evening everyone xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
