A*azon sell the good rabbit food cheaper than P*ts at home.

I paid 100 off the wrong CC but oh well!

I have a big CC to pay off. Ugh. Your selling and loan plans sound so good, very organised. XXX
Thanks Buffy, I usually get from the home bargains stores but do top up from Tesco occasionally when I’ve not been to one.

At least it’s £100 gone for you. Might not be the right card but it’s bringing something down.

You’re organised with your lists. Normally I’ve got loads down to do but not this year. Im just concentrating on recovering my months of messing around. X

    Morning,

The money arrived and I’ve just left it until I’m confident it will be ok to pay off. It was delivered in the morning first thing so I know It is there.

Ive listed the patio set and had some offers but not what I would like. I’m not going to get my money back but at least some would be nice. Some people are quite cheeky!

Dentist today and then dog sitting duties which I don’t mind. Have a good day everyone x

    Morning,

Yesterday's rain and thunderstorms showed that the front part of my garden is still quite vulnerable to the water build up. I have decided to build an edging part at the front that will have stones and bark in to help absorb the water. The house is on a slope so all the water just runs down and pools in one area at the front of the house. During the really heavy rain last year, it got so close to the air vents that I had to go out with a brush to get it away. Those that read my diary last year will know that I bought some wooden blokes and now the water is held on the garden until it has chance to soak into the ground. This is working to an extent but there is still water seeping through and it does pool. Not to the extent that it did, but I will need to try and sort it out as otherwise it could come into the house. My mission today is to source what I need for as cheap as possible and start to build it if I can. I'll need a wooden border, some bark and some stones.

I am due some money today as well. Around £120 but this needs to be put to one side to help pay off some of the loan. I am waiting for the online banking information to come through before I am able to do it.

In selling news, I have some items with bids on and I am owed £65 from a friend who has bought a few bits from me. Possibility of around £400 with the furniture set. Some will now pay to make sure the garden stops holding water and the rest will go off the loan.

My decluttering is doing okay. I have been slowly getting rid of things and the big unit has gone and everything that was in it is starting to find a place in the house. Selling things has been helping and I also have a bag with DD's clothes started up again. I have a couple more bits to list to sell but will do them steadily over the week and weekend so that I am not rushed at once for going to the post office and can take my time.

My shoulder isn't so good at the minute. I am hoping I get the referral to the surgeon through quite quickly so they can see if there is anything they can do. I have physio next week as well and that usually helps me to get a bit more movement.

I tutored last night so that is £30 into my business account. I get it paid straight into there which is a good job as my business insurance is due as well as my statement that I have to file every year. I have another one starting back in September so that will start to bring in the money for the business.

Well, let's see what today brings for me! Hopefully a few sales and not much rain.

    x

W222 I had the same problem in a previous house so I dug a soakaway the width of the garden and as deep as I could. I filled it with stones and pebbles then top dressed with earth. Made a big difference.
All that clutter used to be money

I was going to say the same - some sort of drainage channel is needed before the water gets to the air bricks.

Standing water is a worry, isn't it?  We're on a slope too and in torrential rain there's gallons of it running straight off the fells/fields and into our garden.  We've tried all sorts of DIY remedies over the years but I suspect with the likelihood of more and more wet seasons according to climate-change experts it's something we'll have to get used to or fork out big time to have some sort of permanent work done.

You're doing so well with your sales.  I love a good carboot sale myself but this year it just isn't going to happen.  I just want to see the back of much of the cleared out clutter and roped in DH to pack his car and  do a charity shop run in various towns locally.  A lot of driving and petrol wasted only for him to bring most of it back again!  So many of the charity shops are turning away all donations at the moment.  It's a shame as some of it was really good stuff but too much to list and sell separately and anyway I'd like to give something to charities as they've all lost such a lot of income during the pandemic.  Your plan to sell job lots is sound, good luck with it.

Sorry to hear you're still having problems with your shoulder.  My back is still giving me no end of trouble and the pain has lessened a bit but I'm having to do everything so gingerly.  I  must have definitely OD'd on the strong painkillers and they have ceased to have any effect.  I keep putting off going to see the GP. It's a rural practice and a nightmare trying to get an appointment from the Gestapo who man the reception desk!.

    Thank you,

this this is what I’m going to try first. When I moved in it had a border and I never noticed this problem. With all the weather changing, I need to do something x

    Thanks Fidelia,

it’s a worry but hopefully easy to sort out. I’d have done it today but this shoulder/arm is just not right. I haven’t been out on the bike at all with it as it just hurts and takes away the experience. Sorry to hear you’re in pain too. I’ve had tough experiences with the receptionists as well but the last few have been ok once I’ve explained that I’m under the hospital. It’s easy to get used to the pain relief and then it dies stop working. Hopefully they can give you something that will help?

It’s a shame about the charity things. Could you not put together a job lot to sell? Lots of people in my area collect job lots for car boots and then they do them. I know I don’t make as much money but when you factor in your time then it ends up worth it for me to simply just put together and let someone else do.
