Three years to get debt free

  • Payday today and then my ex had also paid some money in so that was a surprise.

I'm working from Home tomorrow and then I can't wait for a relaxing evening.

We had a colleague leave tomorrow, so we had chippy lunch together as most of us aren't in tomorrow. It was almost £30, which I thought was so expensive but realised they would need to have upped their prices. I rarely get involved with the work food ordering because of what I can't eat, but decided to today. I went and picked it up as well so that also meant I got to pay for what the others hadn't. Some people also need to pay me for the leaving gift i bought her as well. We agreed an amount and I picked up the gifts. I won't be joining in again. I dont mind paying my stuff, and I bought the ladies leaving as she works for me. We have a coffee machine in work as well and I'm finding all my pods are being used and nobody is stocking them back up. I bought 10 pods on monday and have had around 4. Yesterday they had all gone. I don't like being mean or locking my things away, but this is consistently happening. I share my things with another colleague who also pays his fair share. I don't want to move them because he couldn't get them and we always contribute equal amounts.
Sorry, that went on a moan. I tracked the two key things I wanted to and I was shocked how much I spent on groceries. It was double my estimate so I need to bring that right down. It's not so much my main shop, but the bits in between. I will be focused on this. Fuel was exactly what I expected it to be, so at least I got that right.

I'm going to keep tracking though.
I've also started buying Easter eggs and bits so that's not one huge hit. X

  • That's annoying about the coffee pods. I would leave a note saying that you have an arrangement with a colleague but if anyone wpuld like to contribute then feel free to use them but otherwise can you buy your own
    Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,894
  • There's a couple of us who top up, but I think one of them has had enough as well as he's not been drinking it or bringing pods in. At one point, one colleague was eating the bread and butter we were taking in. When I stopped eating them again, and my friend cut out stuff too, they started bringing in two slices a day for them. Our bread and butter was being eaten within a day, some.by her and other colleagues, but she never bought it, and when it was her turn, just brought her own slices. X

  • All big bills are out today. I've checked my account and it feels like I've got too much money I there. I can't see why this is at the minute. I've not moved any money into savings and reduced payment to DD and my own long term savings account in anticipation of not receiving payment for my ex.

I'll wait a few days before I do anything, in case I've missed something.

If ever that happens to me I always leave it as no doubt I’ve forgotten something.

We had someone at work who used to always help himself to other people’s milk in the fridge and never brought any in 🙁
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • I've checked again this morning and gone through my bills to see what it is. I think it's the pay rise that I had. That's the only explanation.
I've paid £250 off my car. The interest I'm saving is amazing. I'm currently trying to bring the monthly payment down by £100. That will take me around 12 months, and then I'll ask them to change to reduce the term down.

One club down, one to go, then shopping, home, tutoring. I did the washing whilst working from home yesterday. I need to clean out the animals this weekend as well. I will see how I feel after all the stuff I need to do today and whether or not I'll leave it till tomorrow.

DD has a ski lesson tomorrow so that's until after lunch and then I'll be hoping for some relax time.

I'm off for a week now and DD and I have some plans booked in. She wants to make a specific cake, cinema, and some other bits. Monday is deffo tidy up her room day.

I'm really tired today..I could actually fall asleep in the car whilst waiting for DD.

Just sat down to relax since 8.20 this morning. DD's clubs, shopping, tutoring, put washing away and cleaned out both animals. DD needed help washing her hair so that's also been done. I've had a bath and washed my hair as well.

I've got the candle on, log burner on low and the TV now. Tea is decided on so nothing too strenuous there.

It's starred to rain now so I'm glad I got the hutch sorted.

Bought two jigsaws as well today and Two books in preparation for my operation. I want to have things to do when I'm going to be at home. Less than ,£20 for all because I bought second hand books and reduced jigsaws.

  • Did DDs room today. I do not know how she manages to get it so bad in such a short space of time. She's short of tops, though, so I'll need to get her some new ones this week. I then cleaned and hoovered upstairs before hoovering the stairs and downstairs. My arm and back are aching now, but things still need doing.

DD had a ski lesson this morning and progressed. I'll book her another, hopefully this week.

I'm winding down to relax now. I love watching Countryfile, and I've treated myself to a takeaway.

I've done another washing load and descaling the washer now to keep it working.

Banks are still the same so will see what comes out tomorrow to see if I've missed anything.

  • Banks are still showing the same. I'm not been drawn into a false sense of security though, something will come out.

Had a nice week. Went for a walk yesterday with DD and took her to the park and garden centre today. Tomorrow is the cinema and Thursday we're going swimming. Friday she's spending the day with her friend. I think I'm going to have some time out myself on Friday and just go for a wander and have a day off.

I've done the washing and dishwasher. DD made a cake yesterday so there were a lot of pots. I had a uni session tonight as well as an early morning appointment. I've been worried about this appt but it's done now and hopefully.i can sleep tonight. I was up at 3am and that's when I did the washing and dishwasher.

I hope money stays as it is, but it'll soon be down to its normal amount!

  • Have you forgotten the council tax doesn't come out in February or March if you are on a 10 month payment schedule?  That might be why you have more money than expected in your account.  Glad you enjoying half term week.
