The Probate Registry is part of the HM Courts & Tribunals Service, so I presume that's what they mean.Yes it's an acknowledgement that they've got the paperwork - but there's no telling how long it will take to be reviewed. In my case, the two e-mails (to say they'd received the docs and then to say they'd granted probate) came a minute apart, but I think they promise to acknowledge receipt within ten working days so they may fast track that and leave the reviewing for later if it's not a very straightfoward case.I'm afraid you just have to be patient - and as you're not the one actually making the application (as I recall - you've just offered on a property involved in a probate application ?) there is really nothing you can do to expedite the process.0 -

you have my sympathies - I've been in your position so I know how frustrating it is, which is why now I've got the boot on the other foot I've decided not to put the house on the market until I had the grant of probate in my hand.

Would you have a grant of probate posted to you before it goes onto find a will.gov page0

It pretty much happens simultaneously. I got an email saying that we'd been granted Probate, the following day it appeared on the Find a Will page and we got them in the post 2 days after that.0

We are also buying a probate property. Application sent off first week in March, probate granted 4th June, so around 12 weeks. It was an application via solicitors with IHT.0
