Mademoiselle said:Morning all, I will be trying to fly today.
Fayolle, I would happily swap a couple of weeks in France with you, we haven't been in the UK since Nov 2019 and are getting desperate to catch up with family. I suggest you get a glass of wine, cook everything with rosemary and garlic, have compulsory long lazy lunches as if you were in France. And of course only speak French in the house! I just need to find out how to get fish n chips and curry sauce here and a really cold pint of lager! I already subjet many of my French friends to toad in the hole, insist on milk in my tea and other English habits.

Good morning!
Hugs to everyone that needs them, especially ASB, Fayolle & Kaz. Healing vibes to Round & Pigpen.
Things have been ticking over here. I made sure I WULTD & put on the DW before bed last night, as I had been slipping. DW needs emptying, so I will do that when the baby is napping.
Torrential rain overnight and this morning, but it is still really muggy. Grumpy dog hasn't been out yet (he would have refused earlier!), but he is whining now, so I shall take the boys for a walk along the brook now with him as the rain has eased. Early finish today, so I am hoping to do a little decluttering upstairs. I haven't done much recently because I have been concentrating on outdoor jobs.
DD2 & BF have exchanged contracts!! They complete on 21st (yay!) They have said that they will spend the night in the flat on Monday, but they aren't moving any furniture in until after they have done some of the structural stuff (a chimney breast and a wall to be knocked down). Luckily BF's dad owns a building firm, and BF now works for him! Exciting times, and I have to admit it will be good when she eventually moves her shoes stuff out!!
Hugs, sticks and spoons to those that need them! have a good day everyone!11 -
Morning all. Hope you're all ok.
I have been at the paid stuff since just after six and am on call until this evening when I then have a council meeting but I will see what flying I can fit in. So far, only last nights dishes washed.Spend less now, work less later.11 -
2 kitchen drawers turned out. Ferrrrling! Gross. I have left the 2 worst ones for another day in true procrastination style. The plasterer is doing his thing upstairs. DD is marooned in her bedroom - that will teach her to lie in so late 🤣. She can get out - it’s not that desperate, honest!
Exciting news, GI!
I want to watch the sewing bee final before somebody lets slip who won. I feel that I must earn that treat just a little bit more, so might tidy another cupboard. My, but it’s muggy here though.

GI sounds good news, I hope it works well for them.It is muggy here as well, a sea fret has just blown in and it is like pea soup out there. My 5 tonnes of top soil has arrived
I 'supervised' where it was tipped, so it gives me less work to move it
I plan on sorting it / level it over 3 days, as I am doing it on my own.
OH has been signed off by the community nurse, as she deems him 'fit' enough to make his way to the surgery, I think not, so having has a long call with 'reception' it is agreed I can go and get the dressings etc and I will do it as and when. What I really want is a pot of medical glue so I can glue back together what has come unglued, but they won't / don't have any. Loooooooooooong slow baby steps, but he is improving slowly, enough to get on scales today to see how much he has lost.Kitchen bin doneBed sorted as cat seems to think all the throws /fleeces OH has been using are now his to curl up on.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Dailies done, dogs walked, breakfast dishes washed and I've just scoffed lunch. I have some admin to do, lunch dishes to wash and I'll put the hoover round. I'm also having to wash all the cushions/covers on the outside furniture as I accidentally left them out last night.Spend less now, work less later.12

Thanks Valli, it's the idea of fish and chips I miss really as I associate it with visiting family as we always pick it up on our way there so no one has to worry about getting dinner ready for an unknown time. Our local freezer shop does do a decent battered fish.
Bedding now drying
Kitchen tidied
Recycling out
Dinner sorted
That's it as it's still over 30 and thunderstorms forecast for later. Time for a cup of tea

Well Mademoiselle, the offer stands.
More rubbish taken to the bin. After two long and busy days at work (as I have moved into a new class) I'm taking it easy today. Oh I have ironed too.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Mademoiselle nothing beats chip shop chips!
Fayolle I hope you have got to sit down and watch the Sewing Bee now
I walked the dog with the boys without getting wet (result!) I also managed to keep the baby awake by singing Baby Shark to him as I walked along like some sort of nutter! It was soooo hot! (probably not helped by pushing a double buggy and a dog up hill!) After work I had a frenzy of activity and managed to clean 2 toilets & 2 basins, put on a towel wash and sort out a box of gibble that was lurking on the DR table. Towels were dried in the TD and are now back upstairs. I emptied the DW earlier as well. I have fired up the laptop so I am going to do some admin before bed.
Night night all!10 -
We are home again, and I've already done WMx2.
