That's part of what I love about this forum - we can agree to disagree, without any arguments.
I just wish that MSE would either admit that resolving the issues using the current forum format is impossible, or do something about it.
The new forum was started during February 2020, they have had plenty of time to sort issues which are 'sortable',6 -

I have to click each one individually to see if I have entered or not.Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.5

We’re aware that the Compers in particular are missing some of the bespoke functionality that we had on the previous Forum. We’re prioritising this along with some new functionality for you

Sadly, I agree with those who think this forum software just isn't capable of having every one of the features we'd like reinstated or added.i use the yellow duck place too now but, as someone else said, it just doesn't have that same community feel that we have here.3

I agree with most of the posts here regarding us all being ignored for the past year. There HAS been a mass exodus of users. There ARE far fewer competitions than there were before. And now they're closing threads to discussion because they don't like being reminded that they've not fixed this in all the time they've had to fix it. That is not ONLY what's annoying people, though. It's the lack of communication, I think, that's really offputting.
I've been here a looooooong time. Yes, the old forum was ancient, and I think it was probably taking up far too much server space than the new owners wanted to throw money at. But to constantly ignore the users who have kept this forum going for very many years is impolite at the very least (note other comments whereby the statistics demonstrate that it's the competitions board that was bringing in most traffic). And they DID ignore those of us who beta-tested the 'new' forum before it went live last February. I don't know a single user who did not revert back to the old forum, when we still had the option, because the new forum just wasn't cutting it. We all stayed on the old forum and yet they foisted the new one on us with no notice. They ignored us then, they've ignored us for the past 16 months, and they're ignoring us now.
I don't wish to be rude to anyone. There are a lot of volunteers who also keep this forum going - forum-wide, not just competitions - as well as those who actually get a wage. And I'm sure they're all working hard and perhaps have their hands tied. I'm grateful to them all. But how hard is it to keep us in the loop? How hard is it to say, "Well, yes, we hear you and we agree. But the new forum simply can't do that and never will."? Because that's what I think is the crux of it.
I will hang around to see what the new-new forum looks like, and I will still refrain from making abusive comments to anyone, regardless of whether or not they agree with me. (But I will and I do report abuse.)
Perhaps MSE have realised that this current-new forum isn't what they wanted/needed and perhaps they've found a new model that might meet more of our requirements and preferences. But please, keep us in the loop. Communicate. Tell us what's happening or what isn't happening. Because constantly ignoring us is just downright rude, and yet we are being called the rude ones for daring to do just that: communicate.spendy/she/her ***DEBT-FREE DATE: 11 NOVEMBER 2022!*** Highest debt: £35k (2006) MY WINS: £3,541 CASH; £149 Specsavers voucher; free eye test; goody bag from Scottish Book Trust; tickets to Grand Designs Live; 2-year access to Feel Amazing App (worth £100); Home Improvement & Renovation Show tickets; £50 to spend on chocolate; Harlem Globetrotters tickets; Jesus Christ Superstar tickets + 2 t-shirts; Guardians of the Galaxy goody bag; Birmingham City v Barnsley FC tickets; Marillion tickets; Dancing on Ice tickets; Barnsley FC v Millwall tickets7 -
PS I want to thank MSE Laura F for letting us see those sneaky peeks on the other thread. I would have thanked her there, but the thread was closed ... 😕spendy/she/her ***DEBT-FREE DATE: 11 NOVEMBER 2022!*** Highest debt: £35k (2006) MY WINS: £3,541 CASH; £149 Specsavers voucher; free eye test; goody bag from Scottish Book Trust; tickets to Grand Designs Live; 2-year access to Feel Amazing App (worth £100); Home Improvement & Renovation Show tickets; £50 to spend on chocolate; Harlem Globetrotters tickets; Jesus Christ Superstar tickets + 2 t-shirts; Guardians of the Galaxy goody bag; Birmingham City v Barnsley FC tickets; Marillion tickets; Dancing on Ice tickets; Barnsley FC v Millwall tickets7
