Thanks for the hugs everyone, really appreciated
we have found the lounge floor again and I even hoovered it
As to where all the [strike]junk[/strike] toys went don't ask lol I haven;t even dared look in their bedrooms since!
The nativity this morning was a great success, still got to drag the pics off the camera but will let you see them later.
Pizza in the oven for dinner so nice and easy. Think I might move all the wrapping paper out of A's room so I can wrap some more pressies for other people once they are in bed. That way I can redo my pressie list for adults and see what gaps I have to fill ready for a dash round tomorrow.
Hope you have all had productive a afternoon.Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
Hi all back from seeing Santa - i have a picture but don't know how to paste it?
Tea cooking - easy mince beef roll and boiled pots. Just need to do DS3 reading whilst it cooks and then a bit of ironing. We are all tired here so early nights all round. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Just caught up with the thread, and I just know that i'm going to forget half the comments I wanted to make!
lil_me - I shall be nicely checking what is going on at the hospital, but at the weekend there never seems to anyone around, so I'll wait until I get there on a weekday! I did see Mum yesterday afternoon, and she is now in a room on her own, not for medical reasons, it seems, but because that's what is available at the moment. it is quite a nice room, with a large window and view of sky and trees, so an improvement. The staff seem much more attentive as well. We're all hoping to go over on Thursday as it is her birthday, although we'll have to take it in turns to visit. (Fingers crossed that I'll be able to get petrol, as several garages round here had none yesterday)
Tia - Congratulations on being debt-free!
Michelle - I really hope that your SMT got their finger out and sorted out that incident. I'm not hugely in favour of inclusion at the expense of the other children and the staff. I hope Charlie is feeling better now.
OH has spent the afternoon fixing the handle on the oven, as DS1 broke it earlier this week. I wanted to make the Christmas cake, but may have to postpone till tomorrow now.
This year, for the first time, I am not going to have to do a massive blitz on the house in the run up to Christmas, as it is pretty much in order thanks to Flying! We're going to do the tree and decorations on Friday: the children finish lunchtime Wednesday, and we'll be out Thursday. Next Sunday evening is the Carol Service, which I love, so that is when my Christmas begins!
I want to spend a bit of time sorting out some menus with the children, and then write my gigantic shopping list. I have bought bits here and there, but not as much as usual, as I haven't been in the mood to think about it at all.
I have finished my present shopping except for a few little bits, and have wrapped up DD's already. I want to do the rest tomorrow and Tuesday while they are at school.
I treated myself in Boots yesterday as they had the Ghost gift set reduced, so I splashed out with my points - I've been wanting it for ages! It'll make a pleasant change form the aroma of Stardops and bleach...!!It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
hello all
christingle is over and donewent pretty well in the end though not as well attended as other years but that's just how it goes sometimes. i ended up bringing about 25 oranges home to juice though as they were going to be thrown out, so i am going to do that now (will probably need a bath after as bound to be sticky!!! might put some carols on as i do it...
flat feels a bit messy, OH did some shopping for me whilst i was at church this morning so it's not as tidy as he would usually leave it. feel exhausted as long day working for me and i feel so emotionally up and down at the moment, think it's just getting ready to leave, planning everything etc. my tummy has been very sore and i am sure that's what it is!
plan for tonight is to ignore (mostly) the mess, watch last night's casualty in my pjs and perhaps even with a G&T. that's after i've juiced those oranges and hung up the wet washing!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
ironing done so kids have unifrom. I am shattered now. Going to lie on the sofa and watch x factor repeat - I know the result but missed the shoe and then it is the wooden stairs to befordshire for me. See you all tomorrow on the new thread. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Hi everyone, very busy day but sold over £200 in raffle tickets so
I'm happy. New thread just finished, sorry it's a little late as had to do dinner, bath time etc when I got back
AnWsMum well done for finding the floor, nope, keep out of their rooms for now and just enjoy the clutter free sitting room. Pleased to hear the play went well
Dusty, once it's uploaded somewhere just click on the picture above where you post that looks like a scenery thing, 2 triangles and a square in a box, and paste it in there.
serena, I am glad that this thread has helped you not have to go mad cleaning over Christmas, well done for treating yourself aswell
pigpen, we had a hilarious bike building a few years ago, just a little trike for DS1, but was bought by great grandma in spain with spanish instructions. My Dad decided would be a great idea to come home drunk from the pub (was spending Xmas there) and build it. Well it was HILARIOUS!!! Took over an hour in the end, got it all the right way eventually, but when he sat on it the next day we noticed the stickers were all upside down and it was a bit missing :rotfl:

Hi Pigpen sorry, I'm not familiar with your situation family wise , and thinking that if you have 8 kids maybe some have flown the nest so not quite so much work for you.Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0
