I must be the only one who doesn't get AF visits....I'm just moody 24/7/365
AnWsMum what a wonderful tree, they look so proud aswell bless them. I just glanced at mine, the skirt is all bunched up, there is rubber bands hanging from it (Ds2 likes rubber bands) half the tinsel is dropping off, can see me redoing it again next week! Awwww the star, aww how wonderful, I bet you get all teary too, wishing the best of luck with not fluffing lines, falling on the stage and all those awful things that happened at all of my school nativities. Sorry to hear about the tyre, I am dreading anything else happening to cars as my 'car budget' of £100 was overeatten last month with the window/mirror problem. I might have to try to increase that.
DS1 had to do his performance again on Friday for the other classes parents, he said 'Daniel nearly nakeded me' :rotfl: one of the boys kept hanging on his clothes and nearly pulled them off. Oh and his chimney got stuck :rotfl: the joys of being Santa.
Right well, made dinner, sorted the fridges & wiped them over (only because something leaked so I had to) put away 5 loads of laundry, washed another 2 loads, one load hanging around the house the other to do in a mo.....
Oh and I built my card tree, what a PITA they are to build. Needed 6 hands. What a tangle I ended up in with it. Done now howeverall the cards now tidy. Have only been outside because we have dogs, have no intention of going anywhere tonight either, be strictly garden visits for them until tomorrow now....they're reluctant to go out anyway because it's cold and they are wimps!
One day I might be more organised...........

DD finally went to bed at 11.30pm, then threw up at 4 am, and again and again til 2pm. OH was gigging last night, drank far too much and has been useless. Trying to laugh rather than feel too sorry for myself. Anything that has been done is a bonus.

Just a quick post to share a piccie of our tree. Its squished into a corner as there's no room for it anywhere else - I had to move DD's desk upstairs as it was! More importantly though it is filled with inherited decorations from both sides of the family (as well as some we've bought) and a decoration chosen by DD for each Christmas that she's been around
Proper "memories" Christmas tree.
AND I've finished my Christmas shopping today, and they're all wrapped. Just about to write the cards and then I'm done (except sorting DD & OHs out, which are already bought but hidden):j Alot later than usual (usually all done by the 7th) but they're D.O.N.E. :j:j

evening all
feel a bit jealous with you all putting your trees up - i'm not bothering this year. might put the cards up after packing day on tuesday i think. feel a bit more chrismassy after making 200 christingles today though. realised i still need to do some shopping though, need a bit more for my mum and something for my stepdad.
lazy evening for us, maybe a game later and watching all the old christmas friends reruns on tvfeel stuffed full of food at the moment (yummy hm fish pie for tea)

Nicki it looks great, now we've had the money to buy a proper tree, for years we've just had a cheap fibre optic one with decorations which fell to bits, I plan to let the boys choose something special for it each year. This year they chose the candy canes which can be refilled, MSE thinking from them. I have their little first Xmas shoe ones aswell. We do have an angel my oldest made but it's starting to look very delicate now so I didn't put it on this year, stays in the Christmas box.
I bought someone a photo bauble this year, I will put a photo of the boys in one side but I am leaving the other side blank, with a suggestion for her to put her Mam in the other side who she lost this year. I think I might get one for us as now I have had it out of the box it looks lovely.
Right, Casualty is on now, boys are just settling, will empty the dishwasher and start refilling once Casualty is finished. Tidy the kitchen a bit as we made a sort of cake before bed time, 3 huge pears peeled and chopped, handful of sultanas and a couple of spoons of sponge mix, mixed up and thrown in the microwave for 5 minutes, even DS2 ate it who doesn't like pears. One day I might be more organised...........

Dustykitten wrote: »AnW'sMum are you ok after putting your tree up Hun, I feel really depressed now I've done mine. AF is due but feel really down, great company I will be for our guests tognight.
Yes thanks, W couldn't wait to start dressing it, had to explain that I had to first put the 3 sections together then spread the branches and put the lights on before he could start! They actually did a very good job between them and the pic shows the end result although it somehow does not look as good as it does in real life. Oh and more is definitely more with A & W!!!!!! But as I was sorting the pic to show you all W broke a really precious glass bauble that DH and I chose together several years ago and I just lost it. Events of the last week I think finally catching up and that was the final straw. Although we are all friends again now. Don't ask to see a pic of the rest of the lounge just now :rotfl:
Bet your tree looks great, I am sure you'll feel better when your guests arrive. Hope you have a great nightOfficial Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
Oh honey, final straw moment at least is now over with at least, we all know when stressful things are building eventually something will make us topple, but somehow I find it relief to actually get the final straw bit over with, sorry to hear about the bauble being broken.
Fingers crossed Dusty is feeling better, braver than me having guests
I think we've wangled it so that we visit most people this year, usually easier than them coming to us as the boys can react very differently when we have visitors. In other peoples houses they usually behave at least for the first half an hour, well, depending on mood, DS1 just tends to vanish and you find him outside waiting next to the car wanting to gocan be a tad embarrassing. I hate tidying for once a year visitors, very rare family other than my parents make any effort to come here, my Dad comes the most, Mam much more rare, so it annoys me when they expect loads of fuss once a year. I refuse to buy alcohol in that we don't like for them to have one glass and me waste or give them the rest of the bottle just because they visit. Friends who come regular I don't mind at all. I suppose it's more because I object to the fact that throughout the year they don't make the effort, it's always us who have to visit them etc.
