Going to be a quiet one from me but I need to start tackling the ironing pile - this will be done gently, and in phases.
In other news I have lost half a stone this week - hardly surprising really, but a good kick start to my planned weight loss.
I hope you all have a lovely BHDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Morning,
I am finally up, having read more of my new-to-me book. Towels also in the wm here, cuppa and cereal being had as I type. DH has gone to the allotment - again. I’m starting to suspect that he has actually built a man cave up there.
Last night’s dinner will become tonight’s dinner, as we took wine / beer and spent a pleasant couple of hours with NNDN in their garden yesterday evening and I cba to cook when we got back. My first social occasion for over a year, and it was only because DD was ok to come, as I can’t leave her home alone. But all in all another one who finds that the covid social restrictions suits them very nicely thank you.
If I can muster enthusiasm, I am going to pack away my thick winter jumpers later. And maybe fling some bleach in the direction of the bathrooms.
Have a lovely day all xx9 -
Morning all, was up early yet again but I put it to good use. I dusted the surfaces in the living room while the adverts were on 😉 Have to climb up on the armchair later to dust the shelves on the wall. Need to get all the ornaments off the shelves before dusting..have to be careful don't drop them 😀
Had the washing machine on early - had to wash a black pair of jeans so was hunting around for very dark things to go in with it..now finished so will go on the line in a tic.
Got the mince out for tea tonight - trying new courgetti with bolognese sauce tonight.
Huge hugs Fayolle to you and the family. Do what you can on list but can I suggest No 4 on today's list 😉👍
I hope you are taking things slowly Valli you need plenty of rest to shake off pneumonia.
Why are people having fireworks - thankfully it's quiet around here. Actually it's still quiet from the first lockdown, last year, not sure where everyone has disappeared to.. You can hear mowers but hardly any traffic. We can even here the blackbird singing away at all hours now - definitely couldn't pre Covid.
Yorkshire enjoy your country park walk today 😀Round I agree Covid restrictions have really suited me and if I had my way I'd still be found doing restrictions 😉Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

I have t-rex arms today.. they are very painful and my chest is extra wheezy .. I have a chair I must rehome.. it is far from perfect but someone might get some benefit from it.. and I will benefit from the space.
OH has been told to sort out fitting the new front and back doors otherwise I am getting rid of them (I am actually looking for someone who will fit them because my doors can be opened without being unlocked now and my back door step keeps sliding out.. security at its finest)
I need to fold dry laundry and hang out the washed coats which didn't go out yesterday and decide which are being kept and which are not.
I may need 5 cuppas and some food first though..

I hope I'm not speaking out of turn here Fayolle, but it occurred to me that your OH may be doing what a lot of men seem to need to do when things are emotional - something practical. You've mentioned the weeds at the allotment and he might just be weeding it. (((Hugs)))Weather was perfect for the barbeque and it was glorious to see everyone being happy together. I enjoyed it but am also reminded this morning how much I've enjoyed the Covid restrictions, which I know doesn't make sense but does to me. Layla behaved beautifully but was fed scraps by all and sundry despite being asked not to so I'll be treating her tummy for a few days. Jamie's burger recipe was a winner, so I'm going to cook the leftover two and freeze them for when I want a quicky meat-fest supper which doesn't happen often.Dusting yesterday made me once again remember that I don't mind it in the slightest if I have dusting mitts on, but really resent it with an old fashioned duster. I purloined a box of dusters when we dealt with my mother's house (a secret hoarder, so there were many dozens, as with many other household items) so I'm going to pair them and cut them into mitts and run them up on the sewing machine. Fewer dusters but more effective ones - win:win.

DW on second run.. I almost have clear sides!!
girls had lunch outside so fewer crumbs for me to deal with.
Cats being a PITA today and trying to get outside to be with the girls.. the cats are too stupid to be allowed outside wild and free and one has a massive tail injury so can not go out for his own safety. I couldn't afford the £400 to have it docked when they neutered him.
I have some money plant cuttings needing potting and rehoming and some begonias which i hacked off a huge half dead plant and have now rooted ready to be repotted.. I might go out and do those and offer them up on the local groups.. there are so many plants! I need to fertilise and head head the amaryllis and hide it in the shed for a few months in the hopes it revives so it can flower once again.. if it doesn't flower next time it is going in the compost.. sorry bulb but it's your last chance! EEeee I'm turning into a right Percy Throwup! haha
Wet washing still not gone out so I really need to do that next then I can put the shoe rack back in its place in the back room and the coat stand might be obsolete and ready for rehoming.. OR.. putting upstairs for dressing gowns!

Huge thistle removed from camellia pot; camellia and box (both in pots) watered. Few (easy) weeds pulled. Sandwich eaten for lunch. Mum has been and strimmed in the back; hopefully, towards the end of the week it will be dry enough to mow again and I'll be fit enough to mow it. But tomorrow I'm phoning the docs to get advice/fit note.

Lots going on!
Before I drove to DS2's this morning with Rosie, I hung out WMx2, packed up DS's meal and my snack lunch, and did a quick tidy round. Arrived here, got huggedby DGS3+4 and DDiL before they left, and then did another tidy round (but only in the LR). Since then I have sewn 4 badges on DGS3's Cub jersey, re-potted DGS4's sunflower seedling, watered various plants, S&S'd kitchen, provided food and drink, and sat and talked. It is very relaxing
and the lemon sponge t made on Saturday has hit the mark.

Hi all
Day out with Mum completed, and it was very enjoyable. Our planned walk was eventful because the footpath has been diverted as a new housing estate is being built slap bang across the middle of it, and there were no signs explaining where to go. This resulted in Mum and I wandering around a deserted building site trying to work out how to get out! All ended well but we needed two tea and cake stops to recover. I have never seen my favourite little coastal town so busy.
Is it really work tomorrow? Do I really have to go? My assistant is on holiday so I will be in the office on my own all week. I suppose I should make the most of the rest of my bank holiday, which might involved a brew and my library book.12
