We had risotto recently and I'm not as big a fan as you are, I ended up frying them with onions and garlic and filled two of those focaccias for lunch. It was super tasty, even more so knowing it was free 😁
Moved the tip to Friday. It's been rainy and cold all day and there was no way I was going to do any work in the garden in that weather. It's supposed to be dry the next couple of days 🤞
Work's been super busy and I was quite annoyed and stresses by the end of the day. Decided to finish 15 minutes early and went into turbo mode in the kitchen. Made dinner, croutons (super chunky ones as the bread was very crumbly), roasted cauli 0 yum and apple pie. The pie was a bit of a fail, I didn't take the pastry out of the fridge early enough, didn't use enough apples and didn't bake it long enough. It's a bit meh but we'll eat it.
Went to the local garage with the boys; Boy1 has a business plan - buying large packs of sweets and re selling it in smaller quantities to friends. I'm worried he'll end up eating all of them but I won't stand in the way of his entrepreneurial dreams. I didn't go in the shop, NSD 3/4 was successful, one day till budget reset.01.12.2020 - CC £16,839 / Loan £18,820 / EF £0

Had a bad night, been woke up several times by various members of the household...
Work is still super busy but I will take an hour for lunch and watch the latest episode of sewing bee. Other things I'd like to do today:
- hang laundry - asap
- tidy garden - probably after work
- clean muddy shoes - took the dog for a walk in the field this morning and the wet grass did part of the job already 😆
- sew
- clean toilet and sink again, at least downstairs ones (living with boys 🙄)
I've been thinking about my job, there's no realistic way for me to change industry without a pay cut which I'm not willing to take at the moment. I'll keep plodding on and keep an eye out for better paid roles, if I'm bored to death anyway I might as well do it for more money.01.12.2020 - CC £16,839 / Loan £18,820 / EF £0

I love houmous too and often make my own - I've got a mini processor that is just the right size for a batch made with a single tin (or equivalent amount of soaked) chickpeas which is handy - I do wish it was dishwasher safe though as I detest washing it. I too like the pricey ones - W@1trose used to do a stunning smoked one, can't remember the brand but it truly was OMG Amazing - I could never justify it full priced though! I've made a rough approximation of it before by using a spoonful of smoked paprika and a good slug of smoked rapeseed oil in my usual houmous recipe. I love throwing lime juice, a bit of dried chilli powder and some coriander into the basic recipe as well - yum!

Thanks for the tip EH, I love paprika, will use some next time.
I did it! 4 NSDs in a row, back to resetting the budget on a Friday!!!
Phew, what a long day, I had to have a coffee at 5pm to stay awake.
I did the laundry first thing, then a bit of gardening when the boys came back from school. I bribed them with some treats and they helped picking up all the camellia flowers off the ground. They filled up a decent sized pop up bag. I had to trim the Euonymus at the front and I couldn't find the shears so I chopped it with the secateurs, I felt really silly. Doesn't look great but it's better than before. The car is now loaded with 4 large bags, ready for the tip run tomorrow.
A pair of shoes sold on v!inted so instead of watching sewing bee at noon I went to post them. Came back and made polenta, mushrooms, wilted spinach and toasted seeds. I think I made enough for 2 portions but it was late and my eyes were bigger than my belly, I ate it all and now I only had some fruit for dinner. The boys got lentil pasta - they said it was ok when I asked but I didn't tell them what it was, I'm sure they would've hated it if they knew it was not 'normal' pasta!
Prolific's been at £9.98 for a few days. My current self imposed cash out limit is £10 but I think I will withdraw it in the morning and send it to the loan, save a few penny. I started a 7 part study today, one part a week, it will pay out £11 by the time it finishes, so a guaranteed loan overpayment at the end of June.
I'll try and watch sewing bee in bed, let's see if that coffee keeps me awake long enough!

Bore da!
I was very tired and feeling very low all day yesterday, I think the week caught up with me. I closed the curtains last night and managed to sleep until 7 today.
I went to the tip and did the l!dl shop yesterday. I spent £32, half of it on meat and almost half of that on a fillet steak for husband, as a treat after his long flight. I'm still debating if I should've bought that, I think I'm the one who deserves a treat 😆
Sold something on the bay, need to post it today, and have bids on other items that end this weekend. I sent the £9.98 from prolific to the loan and I'm almost up to £6 again.

I bet your husband thinks you did a good thing with the steak! 😁 Great work on the NSD’s - and the overpayment - you’re on a bit of roll there aren’t you!I was surprised to pick up a prolific survey first thing this morning - not often they seem to appear early on weekends. (Or is it more like I’m rarely up early enough to check for them on weekends?!)🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

@EssexHebridean he's arriving today and I'm sure he'll appreciate it. He loves a steak but a chunky fillet like this is a rare treat.
@WinterWarrior not much, a week off alone somewhere on the coast
