Masterful list for today Piggers.June Goal I am GOING to lose 5lbs. I cannot stand this blubber any more. I've been wanting to shift it for years but nothing has worked yet, so making the goal public might just make the difference. As Tuesday is the 1st June I will weigh myself first thing Tuesday morning after the BH and take whatever weight that is, minus the 5lbs, as the Goal Weight. Now, I really must defrost that kitchen freezer, which I've been saying I'll do for at least a month.Better is good enough.9

Still considering my June goal. I would love to lose weight, but we shall be on holiday for a week in Cream Tea Land!
So far this morning I have
- had a long conversation with my oldest goddaughter
- taken 2 extra meds as prescribed by the GP yesterday: I shall turn into a rattlesnake!
- S&S'd kitchen (but not the floor), tidied the LR, my bedroom and the bathroom
- FUPA a dry sheet and rearranged yesterday's washing that is airing in the bathroom
- asked DH to tidy his bedroom
- started a load of towels in the WM
- handwashed a pair of gloves and hung them outside
- spotted a cardboard box on the top shelf in the utility which came with the phones which we bought about 4 years ago (I kept it in case they had to be returned to the manufacturer) and recycled it
- brought in 2 large boxes from the shed (which also entailed sorting through the smaller boxes which they contained, recycling some of them, and putting the remainder back in two much smaller boxes)
- sorted the CS donations collected so far into the two large boxes and shut the lids so that (a) I can't see what's in them and (b), more importantly, neither can DH
- watched Mr and Mrs Blackbird bringing nest building material to the clematis-covered trellis by our side door
- done a bit more of the Treasurer's job
Getting there slowly...
...or at least, I thought I was, until I knocked my mug over just now and spilt tea all over my keyboardHere's hoping that it will survive!

Fayolle being heard and having some say in the decision making is so important for her, but often hard for us. Much love to you all x
Pigpen thank you for pulling me up on that, I am usually quite tolerant and patient but you are right, there might be a reason why the lady just kept talking, or she might just be missing a bit of human contact after lockdown. I am so damned busy all the time at work that sometimes I get my priorities wrong, which is really bad.
Paid stuff done, tricky conversation with someone who works for me dealt with, and peace restored. I didnt think I was going to be able to deal with that until next week so glad its done. DS taken to the garage to collect his car, washing out in the sunshine. Floors downstairs hoovered and mopped, kitchen bin emptied and washed out.
Brew being consumed now. Will catch up on the flying properly tomorrow.10 -
DW and WM loaded. My mum's idea of helping includes washing up but I've had to put "washed" stuff in. I shouldn't complain though.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

1 hour gardening done. Planted my seedlings out.
towels washed and dried
2 hours spent in dancepop’s garage. Half of 2 wheelie bins filled and a full car tip run done.
You can’t see any difference. It is rammed.
I have to work out where I can dispose of all the bottles of various liquids to. I have found out that my tip takes aerosols so that is a start. I have put off booking the skip until I have had a discussion with my sisters. The garage is full of boxes, chests and loose tools. Many are rusty. I’m a little scared of throwing any away in case they are part of the lathe or other big machine. I think this is the worst room to deal with. DH had a meltdown over it and misbehaved at the tip/ journey home and is in the dog house. I have told him that I will not put up with being shouted at.

DM.. I just stropped at OH too.. He knows I have hearing loss and INSISTS on looking away from me and mumbling.. and I asked him what he said 3 times and he did the same every time so I got upset and told him it is disrespectful. Must be the grumpy weather making us all short tempered.. and the new moon.. it's always about the moon. I have a hormone/stress headache now. The garage sounds like my house.. and the shed! .. eating an elephant.. one bite at a time! Glad you are calling in reinforcements.
I filled a WM
OH hung up the wet stuff and brought inthe stuff off the line.
I loaded the DW and cooked something resembling food for dinner..

there is a charity called Tools with a mission - maybe they could come and take stuff away. They clean the tools and they get reused.

Morning all,
It's the holidays whoop! I am giddy with relief. Chickens let out and fed, DS scoffing a banana and I am about to hang the washing out. But for the cockerel, it's peaceful 😍
DM - I read on another thread about a company that takes away shredding and does it in an industrial machine, if DG had lots of very old pieces of paperwork may be useful. £30 for three stuffed full black bin bags rings a bell? I too do not tolerate shouting. I have never shouted at a student or another adult in my life and would never do so. DS says my voice goes low and scary 😂
Iona - how are you lovely lady? You astound me all the time, with your energies and all you do for your DH. Enjoy Blenheim xx
After this post I will chivvy DS to tidy some craft bits away, I am determined to have a clean tidy house in which to relax this weekend. It's lovely and warm which reminds me I have no summer clothes that fit, absolutely none, so I'll be hitting the chazza on Monday. I'll manage today in old PJ shorts and a vest top 😂9 -
Morning xx
Considering that they are all the same length that was a very long week. I ran out of spoons mid-afternoon yesterday, but thankfully it wasn't too busy. I came home and flumped in my chair vowing to spend the whole weekend at home unpeopling. But I did give DS a lift into town so he'll be calling today to pick up his car. 🙂.
I'm up, I've made my bed and delved in the ottoman: 2 face cloths, 3 pairs of socks and a t shirt now in DS's bag; pair of boxers and a face cloth in the laundry hamper; several odd socks retrieved that I know have mates in the odd sock bag; and a pack of knee highs still in their packaging to go in my sock drawer. I could have carried on but my eye didn't like all the bobbing up and down, so I came down for a brew. Think I might have another before I get dressed.
Have a good day y'all 🤠

Thank you both, YL and Piggers, for your comments on the talkie nature of some people in the workplace. It took several hours for me to work out why I was so upset, and part of it was sheer frustration at not being able to do any work at all thanks to the talkative person; I have four hours there due to car parking and two hours of it were completely and utterly wasted by her. The main problem was the content - breaching confidentiality, and inappropriate criticism of someone who has been absolutely amazing right through Lockdown whose husband is currently having radiotherapy. I've now pushed the problem upstairs. It's all very well people volunteering because they're lonely (which she mentioned in'selfless' detail, on behalf of the others, obviously) and I'm fully aware of all of the person's personal issues (in more excruciating detail) but I can't and won't tolerate being manipulated by mischief-makers. My sympathies only go so far.We have a neighbour who was being very difficult and aggressive with everyone recently. I took her some flowers and wrote her a card which said, 'You seem to be a little unhappy at the moment. Is there anything we can do to help?' and she's been a different person since - to everyone. I'm not unaware of the pressures on people who have been isolated and lonely for over a year because of the current situation. When someone crosses the line, and it's a pattern of behaviour that is becoming purely destructive, it takes me a while to work out what's going on and then I deal with it as best I can. I find that process painful hence offloading on here. The freezer is done! We're having a barbeque and informal croquet game here tomorrow to help gee up the isolated neighbours and friends, and because it's fun, so there's that to organise. The crocquet set was my parents' and it's a bu**er to get out of the old coalhole. Dusting, vacuuming and shower room sparkling also need to happen today so that it's presentable when friends need to nip in to use the facilites. I had to find the frozen steak mince buried in the depths of the freezer to make the burgers so that's killed two birds with one stone. And a quick trip to Mr M's to buy some burger buns etc is on the cards.Better is good enough.10
