Morning all
Wide awake at 4.30am, not usually one for the WAC. Laid there fretting about our finances because I know I have overspent. Eventually got up and worked on my spreadsheets, it's actually not as bad as I thought.
ASB I am going to dig out my summer stuff this weekend and sort through it - I havent worn any summer clothes yet this year. Now I am back at work more I am tempted to spend, I need smart stuff for work, its makes me feel more confident, but I need to keep an eye on the budget.
Flying this morning while DH is at work, car is desperately in need of hoovering out and washing, will try and get a walk in too as its lovely out there. DH is grumpy because he has to work, I am getting out of his way.9 -
Morning all, I was going to pop in the WAC club earlier but I didn't think 2am was a good time really..well I'd actually been up since 1am as I had gone to bed and then woke up with excrutiating toothache. And well I've been up ever since, I think I dozed a few times but I am now awake and due some painkillers. Need to send DH up to the chemist when he is up and about as paracetamol isn't cutting it - the gum is really swollen from a cut and the swelling needs some help to go down and usually neurofen does that with me
Anyway I've spent most of the early hours catching up on some trashy t.v. and drinking copious amounts of tea...lol
Honey cats are pesky things aren't they? Still at least you knew the reason for Twiglet's aversion to her litter tray and why she did what she did
Glad to hear you are home Valli, you had us all worried. I hope you are resting up too. I know what I'm like when I get pneumonia, it totally wipes me out, so can safely say REST!!!
asb I hope you get rest that you so seriously need this weekend, but please don't push yourself and listen to your body hon.
Piggers hope you managed to get that sausage casserole and no-one had eaten the sausagesThank you so much for stepping in at short notice too
I shall give myself a couple of June goals, which I know are achievableOne is to continue losing weight at 1lb a week at SW and the goal is to pack up 6 boxes, of household bits, to put in storage.
If anyone wants me to do a June goals list, like the old slinky list, after the list next week then let me know and I'll pop one up so that we have something to keep us going if we feel like we aren't getting anywhere with our goals.
Now off to do HH of ironing.
Hugs and spoons to everyone..

I'm dressed. Another t shirt and a pair of boxers in the bag for DS. More bed socks put in my sock drawer. Odd socks matched up and also put in my sock drawer...apart from one pair, which I'm wearing 😊. Name tape removed from PE shorts and shorts put in cs bag.
I've brought the laundry hamper down. First load will be school shirts which are destined for the cs bag. Better late than never 😉
Is it hot? Or is it me?

First WM load swishing. Birds fed. Recycling out. Name tape removed from another pair of PE shorts. They can be washed before they go in cs bag.
Coffee now

HB.. I'm glad your neighbour is behaving better again. That must be really hard if the conversation is inappropriate with the new colleague.. I can imagine it made you very uncomfortable which was no doubt more the problem than the fact she just talked. I have an acquaintance very much the same. I reply that it is none of my business and I am not interested in the affairs of other people. I change the topic to the weird things I know about every time she start going into too much personal details about things, usually on a weird tangent or ask things like 'what do you think about global warming/weather/electric cars?'.. she probably thinks I am a freak and tells people not to talk to me haha. I just think their own lives must be very boring.
Round.. I'm still freezing..
Leg still VERY painful, I took 2 lots of medication and went to bed last night .. I think I may have been asleep in about 3 seconds.. I had to get up because it was painful to lay in bed though. I need a shower when the next lot of pills have kicked in and then I will think about doing useful things.
I have a chair to rehome.. it's not quite tip-fodder.A pile of DS2's cast offs to ebeast/V!ntedand a lot of vacuuming to do.. the whole downstairs needs doing between the usual bits, my cats which shred cardboard and paper and the litter trays... it is nasty.
I want the carpet washer from DS2's room so I can whizz over the hallway again too.. Hazel has left it smelling beautiful.
If I can manage it I want to sort the winter coats too.. they can be washed and hung out since it is half decent weather and donated to the uniform collections organised by a local MP.. they give it to families in need and include coats and shoes and all sorted.. but I donated 3 binbags full last year and hope at least a bit can go this year too.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)10 -
Good morning!
2 loads of washing on the line, and 3rd swishing - all linen from my wardrobe that can go to the CS. I am now home alone for an hour or so, so I am going to try and clear some of my junk from the wardrobe. It needs to go to the tip this weekend. Does anyone else prefer to do this kind of sorting alone?
Goals for June....🤔 I think I need to lose some weight - I will join HB and say 5lbs. I also plan to clear all the weeds from the allotment!!! Well, the majority anyway, so it looks less meadowlike!!
Ok - wish me luck, I'm going in!!10 -
Wow our new solicitor is quick! We drafted new wills with her late on Tuesday, received the first draft on Thursday, made our amendments and emailled those through yesterday afternoon and we've got the final draft to sign this morning! Very reasonable price (half the price of other local firms!) and a delightful person, too. :smiley face:Piggers, the problem is that she's not new! It was her first day back in the building because she's been shielding. What is so infuriating is that the person she's gunning for and I created a job specifically for her and personally hand-delivered work every single week for about eight months so that she wouldn't feel left out because we knew how lonely she is! The car journey involved was completely out of both of our ways, and frankly it would have been quicker if I'd just done the work most weeks! I'm usually pretty good at keeping people at arm's length when I want to but this woman just won't listen, won't learn and won't concentrate. Now she's being unpleasant about someone I have huge respect and affection for I've had enough. We all have our limits. I stopped working full time in 1996 because I couldn't stand office politics and I'm not getting sucked back into them by anyone.I'm so sorry so many people are spending time in the WAC. I've thoroughly cleaned the room, put some fresh flowers in there, opened all the windows to air it thoroughly, washed them and the net curtains, and made a Victoria Cream Sponge for you all. It's a bit wonky but it tastes fab.Round, I'm in awe of how long you're keeping your motivation going, one sock at a time! I know the fact that it works helps, but what really makes the difference is sheer determination and you've seriously impressed me with your stickability. That ottoman is soon going to be a glorious space, and there's nothing I like more than seeing clear space in any of the containers in this house. I hope never to have anything rammed full again.Today I think Belovéd and I became truly middle aged and middle class. For the first time ever we went shopping together on a Saturday morning, he's going to the pub to watch the footie later, I'm doing the washing and the gardener has been to mow the 'lawn' - in truth the out of control communal grassed area between the houses - so we can play crocquet tomorrow, and I'm going to the market to buy wool so I can finish my crocheted blanket later. All of these things have happened individually on various days before but never all of that on a Saturday. I'm not sure I approve.
Better is good enough.10 -
Well, I lied when I said 3rd load was swishing.....I forgot to turn the WM on! 🤦♀️😂 It is definitely swishing now. I am having lunch in the garden. I have cleared a drawer in the wardrobe, started another CS bag & binned some stuff (probably not enough) and rehomed some stuff elsewhere. Still a WIP. One more (very full) shelf & 2 drawers (with underwear, sleepwear, shorts & running (I will run again - honest!!) stuff. I may do some later, but I am going to spend a few hours this afternoon in the glorious sun at the allotment, cutting grass & weeding!
pigpen My cat also loves shredding cardboard boxes! It keeps him happy - he can't have normal cat toys because grumpy dog will pinch them & eat them! He is also an expert fly catcher, and is impressing us with his gymnastics!!

Thank you HB xx
I've had a coffee and a lovely long natter with DS. I do miss him. He has taken the two carrier bags of his stuff. Fer-ling🙂
2nd load of washing pegged out. Laundry hamper returned to its spot on the landing. Couldn't resist another ferkle in the ottoman. One item morning and evening is the plan, anything extra is a bonus. Two pairs of joggers now in the rag bag. More school shirts, plus dress shirts and a pair of school trousers unearthed, to be washed and put in cs bag. Another pair of socks put in my sock drawer- 'so much chocolate, so little time', I don't remember them!!!
I sent DS up to see how much floor I now have in my bedroom. He made all the right noises 😍
My sock drawer is now full. Any further additions will have to be one pair in, one pair out. I do not need/want an overspill sock drawer. I have an overabundance of socks. I like socks- you know they'll fit when you buy them 😊
