Aldi Magnum gets my vote. 😊
  • Don’t waste your money on Lidl’s new washing up liquid - Wyx. It’s thin and very very poor at shifting dirt and grease from an ordinary bowl of washing up. Inferior to the one I used to get from there, the W5 Platinum one. I got through a bottle about 4 times faster than I used to with the W5.
Got a bottle of Wyx a few weeks ago. Always buy things like WUL, loo roll, condiments when I have just opened a new bottle, pack etc. Got 2 more W5 PWUL in cupboard. Once I finish these, I will go to B&M, Wilko etc to get Fairy Platinum
Lidl definitely shifted from mainland continental manufacturers due to Brexit; W5 Aloe Vera liquid was excellent.
Many of the domestic replacements are inferior plus they sell more and more overpriced branded goods.
  • Prices for our small shop in Aldi today were 5% up on a couple of weeks ago.

Austrian specials start at Lidl tomorrow.  Lots to recommend and we'll be stocking up on the spatzle.

Watch out for the schnitzel though.  It's all lovely but there's one type they often have which is not huge but cooks easily in the oven.  The others tend to need to be fried which won't suit everyone.

And don't buy the black forest ice cream because that's all mine.

Why does Lidl devote so much shelf space to honey, yet there is no lemon curd?
I've never spotted Lemon Curd in ALDI either.
They do occasionally do it as a middle aisle thing. Usually there are three types, one of which is some weird passion fruit curd.

It's the concentrate I prefer, original Magnum is not what it once was.

After what must be about a couple of months, my Local Lidl finally has sardines in tomato sauce back in stock. I noticed the price has increased (scanned at 35p, label on shelf still showed 31p).

I've noticed that there are alot more yellow sticker items in Lidl, which is good.  There used to be a small section for them, now they are with the general meat.  (although probably more pinky/purpley than yellow!)
  • I’ve not seen Skips anywhere for ages so was delighted to see Aldi do a version called Melts.
They are delicious and only £1.09 for 10 bags.

Noticed more 20p bread/bakery items in past month. Always take something or two from there.

Orange labels are a third off with next days date and are found in their normal place. The green 20p/70p/£1.20/£1.50/£2 stickers items are with that days date and are found in green troughs in the fresh and meat sections

I bought a 1.3 Kg Gammon joint for £1.50 in Lidl on Monday it had the use by date of 28/2/22 I put it straight in the freezer when I got home. As I only shop once a week it's a bit hit and miss as to whether there are any yellow sticker items on offer with 30% off or more
Someone please tell me what money is
