anyone got the ingredients in Aldi and Lidl butter beans and chickpeas please ?

I don't - but see my answer to your other thread. Butter beans are probably the one thing I would consider buying tinned as the batch of raw beans I bought were bitter and inedible.

If you don't get the ingredients on here, you can usually find them online.

I found the the same with red kidney beans plus they were more white kidney beans when they were cooked.

I’ve found supermarket blackberries often tasteless. They are farmed, not wild. I pick loads in the autumn from hedgerows and freeze them.

The ones I bought (YS) from another supermarket the other day were actually closer to what wild blueberries are supposed to taste like. But I agree its too hit and miss.

I managed to find my favourite Kordia cherries today - but at Tesco. Lidl has yet to deliver on the goodies this year.

During the Lidl American week, I bought a box of Seafood Boil mix. Has anyone tried this one? I imagined it to be like a chowder / stew broth. But apparently, with seafood boil, you drain away the liquid after cooking so you're just left with the seafood, potatoes, etc. It looked interesting, and wasn't the normal sugary/salty snacks their American range tends to be.

I looked at this but didn't buy it. I assumed it was for those who want to boil up a couple of lobsters or a whole lot of fresh clams - both of which are impossible to find here despite living so close to the sea. Do let us know what you think.

I think Lidl should do a Canadian week to coincide with Canada Day: poutine, touton, ployes, Timbits, beaver tails, matrimonial squares, butter tarts, sugar pie etc. Everything is designed to stave off winter starvation!
