Lidl have expanded their already excellent frozen High Protein Ready Meal range.

Included in the new options is Chipotle Pulled Pork with Black Bean Rice.   It's very nice, with a decent serving of pork.  Medium hot, I'd say.    £1.79
I tend to find that most things touted as high protein have much higher levels of cars, that outweigh the proteins by far 🫤

I'm still looking for that holy grail of high protein and and low carb ready meals, that I can add extra (prepared) veg, salad, seeds, nuts etc to, that also don't contain loads of unpronounceable gubbins!

    One day... 🙏

was listening to a food programme on Radio 4 and someone said that some high protein things were ridiculous.  if we want more protein just eat more meat or suitable vegetarian alternatives.   I must admit I understand the desire for something easy and for portion control but know that I do much better simply buying meat and veg as that way I can leave the obvious carbs out completely.

I can't cook (or shop much) at the moment, which is why I'm looking for ready meals that I can add pre-prepared vegetables etc to.

The best option I've found so far is a takeaway (via uber eats) that does a grilled chicken bowl with loads of good veg and salad, and I add to that. It lasts me 2 days (3 if I don't finish it on the 2nd day, I eat roughly 3 days a week, 4 on a good week. Sometimes the 2nd serving gets wasted, which I hate!).

I also use GoPuff...I get the reduced bags for £5...sometimes it's an amazing deal, £20+ worth of stuff. But it's ebbs and flows, of course.

It's still £15 min per delivery though for both of them, unless you want to pay ridiculous delivery fees (or pay membership, which I do and recently realised that it's a con!). It isn't really sustainable.

If Aldi or Lidl had something like that then I'd happily pay taxi fare there and back a couple of times a week. Or if they started to do home delivery, OMG I would be Made Up! 🙌

My cooking facilities were minimal recently due to building work. I made a healthy meal using precooked chicken or ham or microwave some salmon and adding veg.

I thought of you when I saw them Brie, I'm glad they made you smile :)
And I think of you @Brie every time I see Mark Carney in the news. Google SNL Mark Carney Mike Myers for a patriotic laugh.

Btw if it is extra protein you need a glass of milk is the easiest way of getting it.

Some of the M&S High Protein range are quite good, e.g.
Chicken Katsu Curry - 42g protein and 10g carbs
Chicken & Mushroom Courgetti - 34g protein and 7g carbs

They only contain normal food ingredients.  You do have to check, though, as there are other meals in the same range which are high in both protein and carbs.
