I've been happy with the Lidl fruity Spin of Surprises but have noticed that the goodies seem to diminish in size over time. Today it was the choice between a red pepper or a lime. Is there any corelation between expenditure and the size of the prize, I wonder?

Aldi now have an app so I think its just a matter of time before its used as a platform for loyalty offers.

So much to read, so little time.

I've got a free Bananas/Bananallamas voucher to use.   Not sure that small bananas are particularly llama-like.  Perhaps they should call them Bananalpacas?

I think they're random because I started with small prizes, but have now had two larger ones.    What they might do is try to spread the prizes across players so as to avoid runs on particular stock lines.

I've just read that Lidl is now offering lower prices on key items for its loyalty club customers, much like Tesco does.
They've been doing that for quite some time now - I noticed the dual pricing in the weekly booklets.

I don't have the app (no smartphone so not able to download it) and avoid buying any item which has special price for the app users as if Lidl can afford to sell it at that price to some people they could sell it to everyone at that price.

Are we talking the Aldi UK app? If so, that's been around for years, like the original Lidl app (not Lidl Plus).

Disappointed that I went into Lidl to get my free strawberries, picked up the 400 g pack as indicated on the spin and didn't get it for free.  It was the wrong 400 g pack so I decided not to take them.  Oddly I did get the red peppers and then when I spun again got the same red peppers (or lemons) voucher.

Each of the vouchers specify the product number (both for Spin of Surprises and Lidl Plus generally).   You can match these against the product shelf labels, which at least with Fruit & Veg are fairly easy to read.   The only issue is where the products have become mixed up.

Shelf labels are a pain in every shop I find.  Basically I would have to almost lay on the floor to read some of them!  Not possible with my knees and seeing the label from a distance is impossible with my glasses.  It's a disappointing thing but the cashier was really pleasant about it rather than getting defensive as some might.  More of a bit of a laugh and a "OH I know!!  everyone has that problem particularly when it's something so lovely as strawberries!!!"  Much to be preferred than the "nowt to do with me" grumble you get from some who are obviously having a bad day.

OH and just in case anyone's about to use their 10% off - I noticed that if you have discounted items (normally 15%) as well as the 10% that doesn't mean you get 25% off that item.  You get 15% off and then 10% off the reduced amount.  Only means a small difference on some items of course.  But if something was £2 the 15% would get you 30p off and the 10% would get you 17p.  So 47p off rather than 50p.  Still the savings do add up.

Husband was WFH yesterday and nipped out to Lidl at lunchtime. Couldn't find the Cornish sardine fillets in a Mediterranean style marinade for 2.99 but did get the grass fed burgers (4 for 3.99) and some sea bass fillets for 2.99.
