At the front of the pack @John_Gateshead, does it have the 'Good Housekeeping recommended' logo as the smaller bottles of Magnum do? I'd have that wasn't allowed for a changed product . 🤔

Much though I love cheese @Brie, I wouldn't want to pay £27+ per kilo for cheese. I'd sooner make my own selection and forego an advent calendar.

I've been looking at Advent calendars generally and selection boxes and the price per kilo for the chocolate really is exorbitant. I think it's more mse to make up a hamper of sweet treats as a gift. ☹️
  • With the Aldi washing up liquid the larger bottle doesn't have the GHK label, but both are marked as Magnum Original Washing Up Liquid, just the size if different.
I certainly would have thought it was the same product, but the larger bottle  foams less and breaks down less oil.

I don't think it has, which I suppose might have alerted me to the fact that it wasn't the same. Unfortunately the smaller (better) bottles seem to have disappeared from the shelves or I'd just get those next time.

Hadn't clocked the cost other than the £9.99 to buy it.  In some ways it's a bit of the silliness of Christmas that we get something different even if it is more costly.  Not MSE obviously.  But one hears so many things about advent calendars - pay £X and you are actually getting £XXX worth of goodies. I have some friends who go all gooey over the nail varnish ones and happily redo their manicure daily throughout December as a result.

Still think the best one I ever saw at Lidl was a drill set advent calendar for £20 or something.  Each day was a different drill bit and the big present was the actual drill.  Unfortunately I didn't know anyone who needed a new (and possibly not very good) drill.

You even have to keep an eye on what smaller bottle you buy. The original is full strength, so is the Apple and also the Lemon, yet the  Pomegranate  is the weaker strength. Also the Anti-Bacs ones are weaker at removing oils.

  • Spotted this in Aldi this morning.  I didn’t buy one cos I could never make it last ‘til 1st Dec, and buying multiples wouldn’t fit in my fridge :disappointed:

This isn’t a Lidl product, you can buy these in many places.  The biggest problem is you are supposed to keep it in the fridge.  I bought one 2 years ago, I wasn’t very impressed.
I didn't realise you could buy these in other places, thanks Murphybear. Is the cheese in them not very good then...?

Ilchester cheeses are good, I think the issue is the relatively high cost.
No man is worth crawling on this earth.

So much to read, so little time.
  • So much cheese, so little fridge space. Mainly due to keeping in good stocks of cheese....

You need a handy cave by the sound of it :)

You don't need a fridge or a cave in my area (Hitchin Herts), just a shed ... temperature below 4C for the next week or more.
