Some pretty good deals this Sunday in the middle of Lidl. I got there early under instruction but there was plenty of stock and no big bunfight. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.0 -

Aldi have Crofton Lap trays instore currently at 6.99 gbp ,bought two yesterday for aged dementia stricken parents they loved them BUT the price label/ barcode label etc IS NOT easy peel spent nearly an hour peeling , washing up liquid soaking the labels and chipping at the residue with finger nails till the labels et al came off.Damaging finger nails and surface of tray.
Wrote to Aldi customer services and got a reply from their representatives based in the Philipines who said bring them back to store and exchange them !
Aldi should do better than pre written standard brush off replies !

I recently purchased from Aldi "Alcafe caramel latte" sachets. 8 sachets for 99p. I've also tried the vanilla latte.
For the price I think they are a good substitute for the branded versions which were £2.50 in Aldi and £2.75 in Tesco.
I preferred the caramel latte but I'd happily drink either flavour and spend the savings on other food shopping (cake or biscuits!)
I thought they were more frothy than the branded versions.3 -
I like Aldi Alcafe double mocha chocolate (or perhaps it it is mocha double chocolate??) sachets. That's my treat!! no need to hunt for a Starbucks or a Costa and fork out for their offerings!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I'm chiming in early.. With one of aldi's Christmas line's...
Brussels pate with cranberries. Only managed to get 2 on one day last year, and 1 on another day because everyone else rummaged through the boxes and grabbed them. Here's hoping I'll grab more than I need this year.
Edit: if any of you regular shopper's see this, it would be greatly appreciated for a heads up.

and the joke is that I read it as Brussels... as in sprouts!! thinking to myself 'who on earth would want a sprout pate??!!'
i positively hate the things. Ah, but I love pate......

I go to Lidl probably twice a year, went to our local store with a friend last week and I noticed a few things.1. It’s not cheap
2. It was set out like a jumble sale
3. So much processed food on every single aisle
4. Only 2 other shoppers in the storeI’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. 2. Disagree ... My Lidl is organized and neat. It is what it is ... limited range products are stacked and the middle aisles are for new stock/high turnover bargain items.
3. ... but my Lidl has a large produce and bread section ... not very different to supermarkets.
4. Size of store, time of day, weather?1 -

I'm not a regular Lidl shopper. I shop in Aldi mostly but I don't think they are much cheaper than Lidl. I believe these 'discounters' have forced the major supermarkets to look at their prices. For example, I can buy a range of items in Sainsburys that are matched to Aldi prices but if I stray from those then the shop is definitely more expensive.
Lidl, like Aldi, seems to depend on the quality of the local manager for presentation. My local stores are fine most of the time. Customer service is excellent with all staff trained to help.
I cook mostly from scratch and find all the ingredients I need in Aldi or Lidl except for a few herbs and spices. Processed food is everywhere but I think that the discounters were the first to introduce offers on fruit and veg rather than just junk food.
My local stores vary in terms of how busy they are, depending on the time of day.1
