Last year I really enjoyed the Aldi cherry liqueurs. I won't know until Christmas about this year's. Will try some of the Polish ones too. In the interests of market research. 😇

So much to read, so little time.
  • I think I've said this before...but Lidl's thick yoghurt is a good purchase. Comes in coconut and honey varieties, 75p/450g pot and a portion <1/3 of a pot is very filling. Protein that tastes nice :)

Their plain greek yoghurt is outstanding as well.  And cheaper than Sainsbugs by a long shot!

Regarding the split yoghurts pots and being charged full price for the stain removal powder last Friday (it was on super weekend offer). Been given a £5 voucher.

    That's good to know.

I must say that any time I've needed to return things or any other issue with Aldi they've been excellent.

Some would say that you don't get the customer service in the 'discounters' compared with other SMs but that's not my experience.

I bought one of these from Lidl last week. It came in a box but have discarded that. It's amazing and can open the most stubborn jars, which happen to be Lidl's excellent cornichons. 🤣

If a customer has a quality issue with a food product, most of us give customers the replacement, or an alternative. Then the cost of product back. We don’t charge more for alternatives. If alternative is cheaper, we add the difference to refund. If there’s nothing to replace, we refund double the cost.

If you have a product quality issues with branded items, you are better off with contacting the brand directly. As a few years ago, Kellogg’s Fruit n Fibre was cheaper than the supermarket’s own. It had no fruit in it. Filled in online form on website and got £4 voucher.

Brands actively encourage this because if you complain to the supermarket, they will charge the brand the cost of any goodwill they gave to the customer plus a fine (£10-50 depending on the issue).  It's much cheaper for the brand to be a bit more generous with the customer directly and avoid the fine!
