Good and Bad Buys at Lidl and Aldi stores (***Please don't expire***)

Sorry - my fault. I cleared out the local shops buying up things needed for the local food bank.S_uk said:Has anyone else's Lidl store had quite bad stock of toiletries recently? Maybe it's just mine but there's been some things not available for weeks now.
Actually I think it's more to do with the whole issue of delivering to shops generally (Brexit, no lorry drivers etc) combined with the shops needing to clear out lines to ensure they have space required for all the Christmas specials. They seem to be doing stock checks very regularly trying to manage it all.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Noticed that the men’s Cien antiperspirants in the cans hasn’t been on the shelves for a month. My Dad only can use certain ones. Cien, Sure, Right Guard and Dove. Fortunately my mum saw some small cans of Sure in the clearance area for 70p in the pharmacy on collecting prescriptions.S_uk said:Has anyone else's Lidl store had quite bad stock of toiletries recently? The Cien and Lacura facial washes have gone up by 20p to 99p

I wonder if there is a general clear out of some less profitable ranges? Asda own male deodorant has also vanished for agesbriskbeats said:

If anyone is missing the Aldi Curry Mayo (we are), Mr T has an own brand Chilli Mayo which is a reasonable alternative...0 -
I must confess to a weakness for Rowntrees fruit pastilles. Unfortunately the different flavours/colours are not spread out evenly. My favourite is the green/lime and my least favourite is the red/strawberry?. I have found consistently that there are only 1 or 2 green and half the tube are red. I emailed the company to notify/discuss the situation but sadly I cannot get a response from them.Clowance said:I once complained to Cadburys because a Roses tin only had one caramel drum in it. They didn't even have the courtesy to reply, so I am sceptical about complaining to brand.0 -
On the issue of supermarkets no longer selling their own brand versions of things - I also recently noticed that Lidl, at least my local store, has stopped selling its own brand bagels that were normally found in the bread section. My local Tesco and Asda also have stopped selling their own bagels too, which is a shame as it was quite a bit cheaper than the branded ones when they're not on offer. All I can find now are ones like Warburtons and New York Bakery Co.0

@S_uk
I was never a fan of Lidl or Aldi bagels. I don't rate Warburtons very highly either. NYBC are great as are Sainsburys which last time I bought any were on £1 for 4. (trying to low carb and I could easily eat 2 or 3 toasted.......)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
