I used to buy large packs of Nicky from Farmfoods but price has gradually crept up so now Aldi is a good alternative and more convenient (excuse pun) as I do most of my shop there. Farmfoods has less and less that's good value these days.

Can anyone give a rough comparison on Aldi's premium toilet roll?

I think the aloe vera or shea butter ones are nice.  OH is less keen and prefers Lidl's.  Of course when one's sitting there and needs a roll you can't be too fussy!!

Question for Lidl shoppers - Aldi until recently had an excellent squeezy Curry Mayo, do Lidl do such a thing as Aldi hasn't had any for a month now?

Home Bargains usually have Nicky multipacks...

I will check the price at Home Bargains @harz99 but I don't think they're as good value as they were so Aldi can be as competitively priced.

Don't think they do. Do Peri Peri (which is as good as Nandos Perinaise)  and Garlic.

The little essentials gammon joints, pretty tasty for £3.40 a kilo.

25 minutes in the pressure cooker, filled half way up the joint with water, a splash of cider vinegar and some peppercorns, cool in the cooking water, glaze with simple honey and dijon mustard and in the air fryer for 10 minutes

Thanks for the heads up on the gammon joints (Aldi? 🤔) I prefer to boil mine with carrot, onion, bay leaf and peppercorns then use the stock for the most delicious lentil soup. 😋
  • Been to Lidl. They have now 500g packs of chicken mince in the chilled section for £1.99.

The system for reducing items with orange stickers was down. Colleague who was code checking had to manually write -30% on the affected items (stuff dated day before or 2 days if loads) then write what the product is, just in case customers put orange stickers on more expensive items.

I think because of this, the super weekend offers didn’t work. As bought some stain remover powder and I paid £2.39 and not the offer of £1.49.

On unwrapping the outer to their Greek Style split pot yoghurts, the fruit part of the bottom layer of yoghurts was split as all over the cardboard bottom. Couldn’t see this when outer packaging was intact. Noticed  that the plastic of the fruity part is poor quality. Will contact Lidl customer service to mention about yoghurts and the super weekend offer not been applied.

Yes aldi, but I think others are around the same price, but aldi ones seem better.

I like using the cooking liquor to make up some couscous, beats using just a stock cube or plain water.
