I've decided to give up buying salmon from Lidl as even when it's well within it's best before date and unopened it already smells on the turn. Looks like it will be Tesco for me. Assuming I can get to a decent size one as the prices in the little one near me are horrendous!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I've been buying my veg from morrisons after the veg from aldi seemed to go down hill. Decided to try aldi again, but the potatoes were very poor quality, soft inside and going off. Back to morrisons it is then.

I am so not a fan of apps but got fed up with the fact that the only way I could get an advantages at lidl I went ahead and installed theirs. And yesterday got a free loaf of bread worth £1.99! I would have bought something anyways so it's pure savings.
And the lovely chap behind the bread in the bakery told me to be sure that I had only chosen 1 voucher for bread. There were 2 available 1 to get "1 free item from our bakery" and another for 40p off sour dough loaves from the bakery. If I had activated both only the cheaper one would have been used and I'd have got only 40p off instead of the full cost of the loaf.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I'm assuming you got the rye sourdough by the price, which I must admit I do quite like. I bought 4 this week (one with the free bakery item coupon, and 3 with the 40p off coupon). Those particular loaves freeze reasonably well imo.Worth keeping in mind that Lidl's app coupons are single use, but the discount will be applied to multiple items in that single transaction (so I often buy a few if the discount is decent and it's something I will use). Unless it is a free item voucher. You can only use that against a single item, and it's applied to the cheapest one in your basket.I also find the best way to make use of the 10% voucher (that you get at the £250 monthly spend) is to trigger the £250 threshold on the last weekly shop of the month and then use it on the first weekly shop of the following month (the vouchers last 7 days). Front-load the new month's non-fresh / food cupboard / frozen / household / etc shopping into the 10% discounted transaction - which has the added benefit of contributing towards that month's £250 target. This particular voucher conveniently stacks with other vouchers too (e.g. had 30% + 10% off on their large Greek yoghurt pots when combined with the recent scratchcard voucher).

I wouldn't buy any other type from there.
Next time the offer's on I'll try to remember to flag it up on this thread2 -

And then discovered after I'd paid that there was a Nectar discount of £1.70 so 10 cost less than 6. But there was nothing on the shelf to say there was a Nectar deal. That strikes me as silly as many people (myself included) not only compare to get the best value but also will multi buy when there's a really good deal going.1

I normally buy multiples of the items I want that are being discounted. It's being some time since there has being an item that I buy, even occasionally, has being discounted, I think the last item I bought with a discount was washing tablets for the laundry and I got 7 tubs of 20, I got one free by buying 7 tubsSomeone please tell me what money is1 -
I was in Lidl today and saw they have 3 packs of single portion tins of tuna, each with a pull tab so not tin opener required. A 3 pack was £1.29 but the Lidl app allowed you to buy 30 packs which should be £38.70 for just £19.99. So that's 90 portions for 22p each. What a bargoon!!! I thought I was going to have to argue at the till about it as the discount only showed when I zapped my app. (no it's not for me, while I do like tuna a lot I got this for the local food bank)
