Quite. We went away for a staycation last week and we took our Firestick with us to use in the accommodation's TV. It even powered OK from the TV's USB port.mobileron said:There is many things a firestick will give you a smart tv wont.Have a look on youtube and try taking a smart tv on holiday with you.

I have some friends who struggle with devices connecting across the house, so the signal boosters have worked wonders for them. Her boyfriend is a hardcore gamer who uses lots of internet too, and she has no issues so definitely worth an investment if it's the wifi signal.
alternatively, try using the wifi box in different parts of the house! That's how we managed to get signal in the garage1 -
I only have one phone line in the living room and so I wouldn’t be able to have the router anywhere else.karenburton1305 said:I have some friends who struggle with devices connecting across the house, so the signal boosters have worked wonders for them. I am tempted for the power line. But my only issue is that it would have to go into an extension cable upstairs as I struggle for plug sockets. It will be plugged into the mains downstairs.
I don’t think that would be a massive issue would it?0 -
Somebody suggested a passthrough powerline adaptor on an earlier post - you won't lose any sockets.Arsenal2019 said:

Powerline adaptors are not recommended for use on extension cables, it can decrease the quality of the network connection.2 -
Yes that’s what is go for. And I’d have to plug the pass through adapter into the wall, and then I would have to plug the tv into that.[Deleted User] said:

I'm sure a decent sparky can add an extra socket without too much messArsenal2019 said:

Replacing a single socket with a dual socket wouldn't usually be a difficult task ... no extra wiring needed, just a bit of chipping out of the wall to take the wider back-box.

Pass through to extension lead if more kit in that area.Arsenal2019 said:
