Poor TV internet signal

My plan this next coming days is to Unmount the TV, place it away from the wall and then try connect to WiFi. I will also take it downstairs next to the router and try the internet speed then. Also, I’ll try it hard wired via Ethernet cable. Hopefuly this’ll prove whether or not there’s a fault with the TV’s WiFi receptor or if it’s just poor signal in the part of the house where my TV is mounted on the wallmobileron said:Have you considered there a possible fault on the tv wifi, talk to Hisense support see what they say.

uostairs....But then again, I shouldn’t have to do all of this0 -
Our Sony Smart TV is very unreliable with WiFi - drop out and buffering even though our signal is strong.
We bought an Amazon Fire Stick which does all the stuff the TV should - it works perfectly.1 -
I have never really thought about a fire stick
before. However, they offer all of the channels that what you’d get on a smart TV wouldn’t it?
snd I suppose that way, I won’t have a load of cables dangling around as the same I would as a power cable!

We have a Firestick - it has the new C5 catch up 'app' which our elderly smart TV won't update to!

Been toying with the idea since Parcival mentioned it. However I’ve just got a new 4K smart TV so seems a bit silly?J_B said:We have a Firestick - it has the new C5 catch up 'app' which our elderly smart TV won't update to!0 -
Other than the power cable for the the Amazon Firestick. Be aware, although there are third party solutions that purportedly power the Firestick via your TV's USB output (if you have one), they may not work with the new models from Amazon and there may actually not be enough power from your TV's USB outlet anyway.Arsenal2019 said:I have never really thought about a fire stick

Our no so smart Sony Smart TV is about 8 years old and the firestick works perfectly.
Sounds like a relatively cheap solution that might be worth a try........1 -
Just run the cables in some D-Line trunking along with your TV cable.Arsenal2019 said:I have never really thought about a fire stick

There is many things a firestick will give you a smart tv wont.Have a look on youtube and try taking a smart tv on holiday with you.1

Firesticks are much the better option anyway. Smart TVs aren't that smart and manufacturer support quickly falls away as new models arrive, whereas Firesticks & similar are much better supported and are likely to be updated more often. It's also a lot cheaper to bin a Firestick than it is to chuck away an otherwise decent tv just because the apps no longer work.1
