And the same to you, Hypno. :D

I'll be joining the 'party' threads shortly - just concentrating at the moment. Just discovered the no deposit bingo bonus thread, so I'm trying to maximise the profit I can make from it (and making a right pigs ear of it too :o :rotfl: )
  • Welcome to 2008! :D

The bingo turned out to be something of a disaster - I signed up to 12 sites with 'free bonuses' (no deposit required), and didn't win a thing on any of them! :rotfl:

Oh well, at least it didn't cost me anything. There are still a few more to try, but they can wait until tomorrow when I'm a bit less pished lol.

Got this free money bug now though, trying to get my head around matched betting but perhaps it's a good thing that I can't at the moment - sure drunken matched betting wouldn't be very profittable :rotfl:

Off for another beer, enyoy the rest of your night everyone! :)
  • Oops, forgot to mention, my AQA email went off earlier :) (before I had a drink LOL). If I get through, I'm setting myself a target of £300 per month - that would be my £3,600 annual target taken care of :D
  • First day of 2008...First NSD of 2008! :D

Today is also the day that I start my full spending diary, what a way to start - with a blank entry!! :D

Budgeting and healthy eating officially start today too, I'll put a post together with my budgets later on, and then post at the end of each week (and month) whether I have kept on target, and also how much I have saved.

Got the car window done this afternoon, so at least that's one less thing to worry about. I'll but the chap that helped me some tobacco for his time, but he can wait until my Bingo money comes through.

Off to make a nice healthy dinner of lasagne now :D
  • Got a load of washing on (didn't get around to it last night, and need a clean shirt for work  ) and I'm settled down in front of the TV for Emmerdale.

Just checked my Online Banking (was confirming the monthly DD amounts for budget) and it's showing -£200.32

It seems that my £325 rent SO is being taken out early :( (It was for the 3rd, although I phoned them and asked them to change it to 4th - was told this had been done). The transaction is showing on hte online statement as 02.01/2008...

One the plus side, I guess the fact that it's gone out means they aren't going to bounce it, however I expect they'll charge me £35 for the pleasure...meaning I'll have to make a special trip to the bank during my lunch hour to have it reversed ( as it shouldn't be going out yet!!!)

    Not impressed

    Happy New Year Marc.
Hope that things with the bank go ok for you. charges really are a bummer. Now that I am a bankrupt, I cant get overdrawn. Or credit or mortgages or loans...
My Mum had my money for most of the year, but I managed to get a bank account from the Co-op in October.
Happy to see I start the new year with just over £1,000.Mind you all the bills are due out now!!!
Not sure I could be so dedecated as you to get the free cash, but aim to keep on having a go.#

  • Happy New Year Mooloo :)

I'm sure everything will be okay with the bank...It may just be that the online banking is running ahead of itself, which has been known to happen in the past.

Good luck in your quest for free cash, it's better in your pocket ;)

I've just spent a a little while looking around the net at properties to let. My tenancy here is now over, and I'm not sure that I really want to renew it. To be honest, I'm in a pretty rough area, in a very small bedsit, with a pretty poor landlord, and I could get so much more for my money. Plus, the reason I chose where I am was that I had an aunt living just around the corner - she has recently left her partner and moved back into another nearby town, where the rest of my family live.

Think i may have a word with my manager tomorrow about booking a few of my outstanding holidays off in the next couple of weeks, so I can make some appointments to view some of the places available. There is one flat in particular which looks very promising, and is exactly the same rent as I'm paying now. :)

Good luck with the flat hunting. I am living in a council flat, in a not so brilliant area, but becuase of the bankruptcy, I had lost everything. I am grateful I got the council flat. However its too small for me and the 3 kids, and 2 grandchildren. Its only a little 2 bed. So my mission for 2008 is to get a house, somewhere, somehow!!!
