  • Just withdrawn £43.04 direct to my savings account :)

Based on my £10 deposit, I've made £33.04, plus I have my deposit back, and still £12.60 of my £15 free to play with :D:D:D

Nearly 1% of my 2008 savings target (£3,600) already, and we're still in 2007!:T
  • I've just done a couple of quick calculations, and assuming all of my Quido pays out okay, combined with my Bingo winnings I will have 8% of my 2008 target already accumulated before January 1. :D

Given my financial difficulties earlier in the year, I haven't used any of my ISA allowance for this tax year :( I've also already cashed in and spent last years ISA :( Anyway, I've just opened an ISA for this year, into which I will transfer £50/month for the few remaining months :o. It won't amount to much, but at least the tiny bit of interest is sheltered from Mr Darling

I'm going to open another new ISA at the start of the next tax year, and will transfer my savings across regularly. It seems daft to pay any unnecessary tax!

Well done with your start 8% not bad in a couple of days. Just think what you can do for the rest of the year!!

  • My body clock's all messed up after Christmas :(

Today was my first day back in work, and I was soo tired when I got in (about 7) that I crashed, and have only just woken up! The problem is, it's now nearly midnight and I'm wide awake...

Oh well, I'll have to put the time to some kind of constructive use...might start creating my eBay listing with Turbolister, ready for the cheapy day tomorrow. :D

I've just checked Quidco, and my Gala money has validated at £30 rather than £20, bringing my totals so far too £90 validated and £92.10 tracked ;)

  • Ouch, that was a painful experience.

I've just had to call Barclays, as I managed to lock myself out of my online banking :( and need them to send me a new passcode.

Never had a problem with them before, they've always been extremely helpful, however on this occasion the gentleman I spoke with could barely speak a work of English :(

Anyway, after 15 minutes of repeating myself I've finally ordered a new code :)

I wish I hadn't asked him to tell me my balance though

The basic upshot is, I have to have a week of NSD's to be able to meet my rent payment :( (Because of the christmas holidays, my weekly pay has been split into little chunks paid at random times  , so the payment I received today was only £126.52, and next weeks will only be about £180...)

I'm extremely thankful that I did a big shop before xmas though, as I have plently of food to keep me going - the only thing I will need to buy is Petrol.

Also, having just logged into my Online banking (limited access), I've spotted an unusual transaction of £49, which is certainly nothing to do with me...I'll be taking this up with Barclays in the morning!

At least you managed to pre-empt any difficult patch financially - this gives you more chance of getting through it without bouncing payments or incurring bank charges (or both).

I hope you get the £49 sorted soon - give them a call now, they are there at the moment if you call them.

  • I've just spoken to them :)

Call centre is a bit of a nightmare, with another person who had trouble understanding me, however I will be calling into the branch in the morning.

In the meantime, I'm finishing off my eBay listings, so should have a few hundred quids worth of 'stuff' for sale at midnight :D

My Bingo winnings should be in my account soon, and I've just called a mate to call in a debt (another £50!) so assuming he comes good, I should be okay. )

Things will be so much easier soon, as I'll be switching to monthly pay and also receiving quite a substantial increase...can't wait!
