Looking forward - my diary!

  • Not a NSD today, as I had to put some petrol in the car (£10) and also pick up some essentials in tesco (only £8.67, which is really good considering I usually splurge at least £20 on rubbish!)

    I picked up a new Clubcard too, which I intend to start using - I tend to use Tesco for fuel these days so should collect a fair few points.

    Just done my clicks for the day, up to 295 on Pigsback now ;)
  • My financial tasks for tomorrow (well, today really!);
    1. Chase Polar Ford for a deposit I left with them 3 months ago, to pay for the tax on a Brand New car I was buying on finance (which didn't happen - as they weren't able to finance me, thankfully). I thought this had been refunded but, having checked through my statements, it hasn't!
    2. Follow up on an old bank charges settlement, which I didn't receive (although I was awarded by the bank).
    3. Contact Fidelity about my 2006/7 ISA accounts, as I have lost the login details and can't lay my hands on a recent statement. Need to know whether I have anything at all left in there.
    4. Contact Friends Provident for an up to date pension statement, as again I cannot find my online login details. It seems my DD has stopped - need to check this, and if so WHY?
    Potential money recovered - £77 from Ford, £976 from charges + any dregs left in the Fidelity account (possibly as much as £100, can't remember exactly how much I had to cash out...)

    If I can get the deposit+charges back, it will make a huge difference :D
  • Right, promised myself that I'd keep a full, daily spending diary, so here goes so far;

    10/12/07 - First day as a DFW - NSD
    11/12/07 - Tesco - Total of £19.43, broken down as follows

    £10.00 Petrol
    *£9.43 Food shopping (Inc sandwich ingredients for work lunches)

    Clubcard points collected - 19

    *Including 2 'reduced price' items, 2 'half price' items.
  • Today was going soo well, by 21.00 I had only spent £1.15 - on a box of Jaffa Cakes to share around the office.

    Then, I found myself sat here thinking how drab my flat looks without xmas decorations - so I popped out to Tesco to 'have a look' :rolleyes:

    Tesco's decoration selection was pretty poor - lost of gaps, which I guess is a combination of the relatively short time before xmas and also the time of day... God myself a Tesco Value tree for £2.47 though :D

    Thing is, I also picked up some more xmas cards* for £2.47 (office themed ones, to write out tonight and take into work tomorrow), the simpsons movie DVD for £10 (which I'm going to watch myself just to 'make sure it works' and then give to my Sister for xmas ;) ) and a couple of bottles of beer for £3.16... (no excuse really :p )

    *These were for charity

    Total splurge - £18.10

    Oh well, it could have been worse, at least I get the clubcard points.

    Tomorrow has to be a NSD, as I've got my works xmas night out on Friday so need to conserve funds.

    Didn't actually get any of this done today. By the time I got in from work, all of the damned phone lines were closed! I'm going to write all of the numbers down and call them from work tomorrow :)

    Feel really guilty today, didn't get any of my tasks done and then went and splurged nearly £20! :eek:

    Dont be too hard on yourself, sometimes things just dont go to plan. Just keep focused, and remember Rome wasnt built in a day.
    When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
  • Today started out as a nightmare - I woke up at 8am, due to start work at 8.30! :eek:

    It soon got better though, I arrived at work to discover that I'd left my wallet at home. All the cash I had on me was £1.42

    Because of this, I've had a NSD :D

    What's more, I'm spending a quite evening in wrapping presents and writing cards, so I won't be spending anything at all.
