Morning all
Feeling much better (not least because I have slept well). In to the paid stuff but covering a sick teacher in another class. Looked for a favourite book to take in to read at the end of the day; I appear to have left it in school. I may never see it again...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Well.. at 11pm I decided I was having an early night.. so I sorted the bed time stuff, OH was faffing about doing the stuff he should have done earlier.. cat feeding and uniform finding.. I do morning food and pack ups as balance. I got in bed at 11:17 and was snoring by 11:30.. I woke at 6 for the loo and crawled out of bed at 8. I don't even know when he came up but I had a message asking if I wanted a cuppa at 11:29.. I was crashed at that point.. That is how I fall asleep haha.. Fitbit says I was asleep at 11:24.. 7 minutes from getting into bed to snoring...
Borrowing the van today to get this tip run done.. OH was saying to have the van from 12.. and I said no.. get is before, get it filled before I go out.. just get it over and done with as fast as possible.. there is no need for faffing about and wasting time.. there is no better use of time today... I need to see progress, I need to see space, even if it will need cleaning. Once the big stuff is moved I will be able to see the smaller stuff which needs sorting. and get rid of more.
Today..
Tip run.. BIIIIIG tip run. Which should clear a significant amount of house and garden.
I can then arrange a CS run.
Nail shop at 1:30pm .. MY time!!
DS2's washing needs to go in..
DW
TD looking at the weather.Check which bills are paid, or not paid, and catch up..
Get necessary supplies up to DS2's room and remove bits off the walls and maybe strip wallpaper.. that will be very time dependent and I am having him do it himself.. he is 25, not a child!I would like to sort a few bits in my room but if I don't get there, which looking at this list I won't, then it will still be there tomorrow!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)7 -
Morning all, I'm here and slowly coming out of my fog, plus I'm enjoying the quiet indoors. Dave and the animals are all fast asleep upstairs - oh wait one of the cats is on the armchair seemingly watching the 80's music channel I've got on the TV, well she's definitely looking in the direction of the TV...lolI've been through my books and done my meal planning for next week, now to amend the Tesco's order before it comes Saturday 😀Have a few things to do today, one of them is hoovering through the the house and refreshing the rug in the living room. DH let me keep the rug I'd ordered, that got delivered. The rest of the stuff has been collected and gone back. So I'm going to pop that down in the living room and have a thorough hoover before it goes down.I really must repot my houseplants into their new pots..I bought the compost last week and the bag is still sitting in the kitchen unopened. I'm hoping that I can use it in the pot plants even though it is orchid compost. I have one 8 year old orchid so want to keep it alive..lolAnyway my to-do list..* Get dressed* Shower* Hoover upstairs* Hoover downstairs* Put new rug down* Hang washing up* Wash dog fleeces* Go for a walk to post a letterThink that's it for today xxMortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Hello again.
By the time I finished my first shift it had poured with rain so the grass remains uncut. Dailies are done, dogs are walked, done quick hoover through, one wash load which is about to go on airer and done essential admin.Spend less now, work less later.9 -
Haven't actually got anywhere..lolI have made leek and potato soup though, in the Instant Pot, that we've had for lunch. First time making it and I was pleasantly surprised that I liked it.
Amended the Tesco order with the bits we need to cook next week's meals.
Oops think that's all...lolMortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Jabbed! CS run was a disappointment as the place I make the donations isn't accepting any today - overwhelm there as well, it seems. This is a good thing in the grand scheme of things, and the boxes are in the car now anyway so they can stay there until Monday when I'll be passing there again, or for however long it takes for them to clear their backlog.Ionafan, I didn't comment on your spice sort etc - I've taken to doing even just one section of the cutlery drawer like teaspoons when I'm waiting in the kitchen for something to come to the boil; even a couple of minutes to tweak one area is another version of Dot to Dotting, which is what saved me the first time around when I was a newly hatched Flylady. I've always worked on the basis that I need to set time aside to do a big area, but in fact all the two and three minutes here and there soon make such a massive difference that nothing seems too big any more. I'm so glad I found DKW; without her I wouldn't have been able to make anywhere near as much progress over the past three months. It was your 1p a Day saving post years ago that I started again in January that started this whole episode off - if saving 1p a day can lead to that cumulative effect, then chucking one photograph would have the reverse, cumulative effect and might break the logjam of the last five years. I'm pleased to say, it did!Flaky pastry made because I want to make some sausage rolls on Monday and probably won't have the time then to do it from scratch then. I'm finding it hard to find ready made pastry without palm oil in it so it's back to basics here. I might have overdone the water but I won't know until Monday because I've frozen it in the meantime.Better is good enough.9

HB my kitchen cupboards are looking grubby inside (how does that happen when pots and pans are clean and the doors stay shut?) anyhow, I was thinking about doing two cupboards properly every week, I have time on a weekend to do that without it seeming like a massive chore.
Pigpen you have hit the nail on the head, it doesnt matter what anyone else thinks, it's how it makes you feel that counts. DS used to have a friend at school whose house was an absolutely bomb site all the time, every room was complete chaos. They were a lovely family and DS loved going there to play. I couldnt have lived like that but it didnt bother them so why should it bother anyone else?
Paid stuff done, 20 minutes weight training first thing and just done a 5 mile walk for a bit of me time. Will catch up with the flying tomorrow, feet up now with a brew and my library book. It will be something with oven chips for tea, I really cant be bothered cooking tonight.

Evening all.
Glad your meeting went well yesterday, dancemum. You are making great progress with the house x
Pigpen, your house is your domain. Even little changes make a difference, and one day you will look round and wonder where everything has gone and why it is so quiet, and you will miss everyone and wish it was all crazy again x
Today I
- made my first cuppa at 05:00 and didn't go back to sleep afterwards
- had an early shower
- tried on the clothes that I had picked up from the shop yesterday and decided not to keep any of them except the bras
- welcomed the MrW delivery at 08:00 prompt - it was mostly my coffee, which is on special offer, and I saved over £9 in total and, by adding a few extra storecupboard items, got free delivery. Very MSEWhen Rosie barked at the delivery man, she woke DH up, so he prepared breakfast almost an hour earlier than usual - well done Rosie!
- after breakfast, baked Twinks, scones (getting in practice for our hols), fruit loaf and orange/lemon sponge. All tested and found to be delicious. I even gave DH one of the scones at teatime, but with low-fat soft cheese instead of butter
- helped DH as necessary, then waved him off to play trains (well, deliver some books and magazines to the heritage railway shop - even DH declutters occasionally)
- did a quick hoover through downstairs and steam mopped the kitchen floor
- had a very pleasant and productive face-to-face meeting with my "senior manager"
- after lunch, sorted out the house insurance for the coming year, with more MSE success. Price quoted by the naval commander was £211 but I got everything we need elsewhere for just £133 - that's 37% less!!! The naval lot were OK when we had our cars insured with them as well and got discounts for everything, but we split our car insurances this year and both moved to different insurers who were much cheaper anyway.
- caught up with an hour's sleep
- mowed the lawn, which is looking a lot better after all the rain
- took Rosie for her walk before we ate a late tea.
Not a bad day's work - I think (hope) I shall sleep well tonight!

Evening all,
I don’t know where the last couple of days have gone or what I’ve done. I do know that on Wednesday night I stayed out of the WAC for the first time in probably 8 weeks. Wooty woot woot. Otherwise it has been school / exam runs, squeezing in a few hours at paid stuff, GP visits, and dailies. Mr M order just updated for tomorrow’s delivery.DH is out having a beer in a friend’s back garden. Having caught up on Sewing Bee, I am going to have a hunt around YT, and maybe get down a DKW or a music rabbit hole. Oh and make a cuppa refill first.Hugs all round xx10
