Thank you @milann, @beanielou and @Sun_Addict!😀👍. It was only one button, but such a boost!

Today I went into London for my hair appointment and got home just after 4pm.
Going to relax tonight - new episodes of Emily in Paris have now dropped, plus new series on Disney+ called 'In Vogue - The 90s Review' all about Anna Wintour and the 1990s fashion era - which I'm really looking forward to watching.

    SCRIMPY MSE THINGS
Spends today were my Senior Rover train ticket to London, Oyster fares and hair. I usually buy a sandwich for lunch at the salon from the nearby cafe - their sandwiches are tasty but very calorific!  So I made my own to take with me this time. I'm going to do this in future as not only can I control the calories, I saved myself a fiver!😀
The rad in the bathroom is definitely staying on now!😂

    WEIGHT
Still no side effects, which is good, and no urge to snack. Food was my smoked salmon sandwich (I also took a banana with me but took it home as I wasn't hungry enough to eat it).  I had my fruit and yoghurt though when I got home. Tonight's dinner is tempura batter chicken, oven chips, a greens/grain steamer and cherry toms.
I had a flat white and sparkling water at the salon - which is free. With regard to non-chain sold flat whites, I use the total calories on Nutracheck that they record for the Pret version.

  • I don't feel like writing my usual post today after reading another poster's sad and shocking news. Although I don't know her in RL I feel she is a friend on here and I feel very much for her and her family.

Thanks.  Funnily enough the only person I told after the first phone call, and while I waited to hear which hospital etc and when I didn't want to scare the family, was my good friend @greenbee who I met through the flylady thread many years ago and then we started doing spa days together. I'd have been even more lost without her support over the last few days and I can only imagine how stressful it was for her as she waited for updates and worried about me driving for hours to the hospital.

  • Thank you for your post @redofromstart - you didn't have to though with all that you and your family must be experiencing at this current time.  I'm so pleased you have @greenbee to support you - yes, friends on here are real friends as I have experienced myself.
Sending lots of love to you and yours. Xxx❤️

I find it comforting that we all have people on here that even though we don’t ‘know’ then we all look out for them x

I’ve had a lot of support on here sometimes more than I’ve had in RL. Also devastated to hear redo’s sad news.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • All of you are so right @beanielou, @dawnybabes and @Sun_Addict. ❤️

Didn't actually do a lot yesterday.  I ordered some bits from M&S and Next. I have a family anniversary dinner next month - they'll be about thirty odd people there - family and good friends of the family so I'm thinking on what to wear. I don't really want to go to town on clothes as hopefully I'll be losing weight and any stuff now bought won't fit me down the line. I have a nice cream silk tunic top that I bought from H&M earlier in the summer (well actually it's supposed to be a short dress but it's a tunic on me!😂). So I thought I'd team this with my trusty old black velvet leggings that I've had for what seems like years and always gets dragged out for dressy events. I've got some nice dressy silver earrings and bracelets so that leaves shoes and bag. I thought I'd go with the silver trend as it's autumn now and I've ordered some faux leather silver kitten heel sandals from Next and a faux leather small silver bag from M&S. I do dislike faux leather handbags but as it's silver I don't think it really matters in this case. The real leather silver or gold handbags always look faux to me anyhow!  Watch this space though on whether the sandals fit ok!  I will not bore you with the trials and tribulations of my big, wide feet!👣
Along with the bag, I also ordered two thermal long sleeve tops from M&S as I need some more of these and it won't matter if they're a bit big if I lose some more weight. I had an M&S gift voucher and some loyalty vouchers so I only ended up paying just over £18 for the three items.
Today I met my friend for Sunday brunch then had a walk to Iceland afterwards to get some cauliflower rice steamers, veg steamers and some frozen blackberries. Iceland seems to be the only place around here that I can get cauli rice steamers. They had an offer on for any two veg packs for £4 so I saved myself £2.55.
i also ordered some cinema tickets for Tuesday as my friend and I are going to see Ian McKellen's new film, The Critic.

    SCRIMPY MSE THINGS
Yesterday's spends were the clothes, shoes and bag.
Today was my half of brunch,  the Iceland bits and cinema tickets.

    WEIGHT
I had my first Mounjaro side effect yesterday morning when I had a gyppy stomach for a couple of hours and had to stay close to the loo!😳. Not sure if this was because of the increased dosage - I did have some triple cooked chips for dinner the night before as I want to eat down stuff in the freezer. I did carefully calorie count them so they weren't a big portion, but perhaps they were just a bit too fatty for my current eating habits. Anyhow, I've been ok since then.
    Calories yesterday came to 1248.
Today I had my usual brunch-out of poached eggs, sourdough toast and a pork sausage. Plus two flat whites. I've calorie counted this meal as best I can and have recorded the contents as a 'meal' on Nutracheck so I know how much it will be next time. I always have the same.
Had the usual fruit/yoghurt this afternoon and tonight it's salmon with lime and chili, cauli rice, grain & veg steamer and cherry toms. I've worked out today at 1485 calories, 12 over my daily Nutracheck recommendation.
Still don't feel like snacking at all. 😀

Sorry about the rubbish tummy. Hopefully it’s a 1 off.
i agree that MSE friends become real friends whether we’ve met them or not. Sorry that one of your MSE friends has had bad news.

    January spends - £587.58
  • Thanks @milann - my tummy has been ok since then. 👍

My friend came round lunchtime to do my nails. Afterwards I popped out to post a birthday card and dropped into the Co-op to see if the San Pellegrino was still on offer. No go, but I needed some more bananas and they had some nice small ones which weren't overripe so I bought a bunch.
This afternoon I decided to make a start in switching over my seasonal clothes. I went through the wardrobe and removed white jeans and any linen or cotton trousers, which left one pair of off-white jeans which I'll keep out as I like this shade for autumn/winter. From the drawer where they are folded, I got out my dark denim jeans, two pairs of black treggings and one khaki pair and have hung these up in the wardrobe so they're easy to see with the rest of my clothes. I've put a pair of fawn coloured twill type trousers in a pile for the dress agency this week as I've never really liked them and it's time for them to go.
I removed three summery long cotton shirts - white, pale blue striped and pale pink striped, which left one cobalt blue one that I can layer this winter. All my linen/cotton tunics have been removed as well, plus a thin burnt orange summer blazer.
I have quite a few tops left in the wardrobe, but these are the sort that you can wear on a colder summer day plus in winter under a thick coat of jacket.
In one of the vacuum bags under the bed, I  had stored away a nice corduroy olive green long shirt that I can wear with a top layered under, plus a thicker jersey type tunic - which funnily enough is in this season's fashionable shade of burgundy - result!
So all the summer clothes I've pulled from the wardrobe have been stored in vacuum bags and now live under the bed. I'm really hoping when they get their airing in the spring they will all be too big and head out to the dress agency for someone else to love!
All my leggings and thermal type tops in the drawer don't need sorting so can stay where they are.
Tomorrow I'm going to sort out the clothes stored under the bed in my suitcases to see if any of these can be weeded out. 👍
Oh - and the silver sandals arrived today. Didn't fit properly so they'll be going back - they were wide enough but the straps across the top of my feet weren't long enough. So I found another pair on Debenhams website and have ordered these. If they don't fit, I'm going rethink bag and shoes for the anniversary dinner. ☹️

    SCRIMPY MSE THINGS
Today's spends - nails, bananas and Sandals Part Deux.
Cashed out £25 on Opinium my surveys today.

    WEIGHT
All going well - I'm feeling fine - not so tired and it might be psychological, but I feel I'm walking faster.
I had the rest of last night's salmon cold for lunch with a big salad and Caesar salad dressing. Fruit/yog this afternoon and tonight is Southern Fried Chicken goujons (though they'll be oven baked), wild rice, broccoli and cherry toms. Not sure yet what total calories are as haven't weighed the broccoli yet, but should be around the 1350 mark.
End week 5 weigh in tomorrow and beginning of week two of 5mg Mounjaro dose!😀
