Wow - 6 stone in a year is a fantastic achievement. Congratulations, you must be so pleased! And I agree about losing the weight slowly, I think it is much better for you and also far more likely that you will keep it off long term.3

Good to hear from you
i have come off Mounjaro now due to various reasons. I lost 4 stone in a year. It has really helped my thinking around food as I now try to unpick why I feel I “need” sweeties and lots of snacks for a 4 hour drive as we are “going on holiday”
it has allowed me to re-evaluate my relationship with food. My portion sizes are also significantly smaller, and I regularly leave food on my plate. I still had a chocolate addiction but build that in to my calorie count for the day.3 -

Thank you @OpalGirl, @jwil, @beanielou, @Debsnewbudget, @Sun_Addict and @doingitanyway!🥰
@Debsnewbudget - congratulations on losing 4 stone. That's a wonderful achievement. Your comments really resonate with me and are exactly how I feel about food going forward. Not much to report today - changed the bedclothes this morning and did some housework. I went out into town in the afternoon as I had to pick up some ankle boots i recently bought from Next. I need these for the forthcoming winter and have bought them early as I take size 9 in boots and non-sandals, plus they have to be wide fit. If I leave things too long I find this size sells out quick and not all retailers stock them anyhow. Anyway it was a wasted trip as although they fit me well, they did have pointed toes which looked great in the photo but I felt that the points looked much too long when I tried them on at home - probably because they're so big! They reminded me a bit like those shoes worn in medieval times that were ridiculously long and pointed!😂. So they're going back!
I had a bit of a mooch around town while I was there but I didn't buy anything and didn't even get a coffee in M&S, which I generally do whilst I'm there.SCRIMPY MSE THINGS
A NSD day today - I didn't need the bus fare into town as I have my bus pass.WEIGHT
Weekly weigh-in day tomorrow - hopefully this will be a loss as I've been pretty good over the past week.I've had to have a big rethink over my Mounjaro journey as the cost will be increased dramatically. I've received an email from my online pharmacy confirming the price will rise from September but they haven't confirmed the new prices as yet. They're asking their customers to contact them with any questions via a survey and they'll report on their answers next week - switching to Wegovy is an option as the price of this isn't rising like Mounjaro as the manufacturer is a Danish company, not American.Tbh honest I don't want to change horses in midstream with any new side effects that this may involve.I've always intended to eventually cease Mounjaro gradually once I had hit my target weight - the ongoing cost being a big factor as well as the fact I do want to go forward without relying on it and have been working hard to change my eating habits and patterns.Although I've still to find out what the new cost will be I've been planning the way forward anyhow.I think instead of waiting till I get to my ideal weight and triating down with the doses each month, I'm going to start to do it now - but continuing to watch my calories until I reach my ideal weight.I have another three weeks as from today on my current 12.5mg dose. As from tomorrow I can order my next four weekly dose which I will buy at the usual price but get the next dose down of 10mg.An extended family member has been on Mounjaro but has just come off as it doesn't agree with them. They have offered me at a discount their two new 7.5mg and 5mg pens that they have left. So I will get these plus also order the same dosage pens from the pharmacy for when I need them, plus a final pen of 2.5mg. So this means I will only purchase three pens at the increased price - this extra cost will have to come out of my savings. So this means I will be taking Mounjaro for another nearly seven months - hopefully this should give me enough time to lose the rest of my excess weight. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Have you spoken to your GP about them giving it to you on prescription? I know some GPs will. Might be worth asking.2

Hi @joedenise - my GP prescribes GLP-1 drugs for pre-diabetic and diabetic patients but I've never been either of these. I wouldn't fit the criteria for weight loss now as I've lost so much weight. 🤷♀️
I did my zoom Pilates this morning and then went down to the gym for my session. I picked up some errands and had a coffee. Caught up with some TV this afternoon and read. I've started re-reading the Poldark novels which I first read in the 70s after watching the first TV series. I've re-read them again over the years, but not for some time. I forget how wonderfully written they are - I'm really enjoying the first book and have nearly come to the end. Only about another nine to go! Bliss!
My friend is coming round in the morning to do my nails and then I'm off to London in the afternoon for a hair appointment.SCRIMPY MSE THINGS
Pilates and gym sessions paid. Other spends were my coffee, chicken breasts from the local butcher as I like to support him, and yoghurt, sea salt, eggs and spinach in Tesco. I also winged across a tenner to DSis's OH for a deposit for a family birthday dinner that is coming up this month.I got my monthly email from Zoopla which gives an indication on whether the value of my flat has gone up or down. Apparently it went down £3,000 this month!
Oh - and I ordered next month's 10mg Mounjaro pen. Ordered at the usual price before it goes up, plus as I went down a dose it was a tenner cheaper than last month!
WEIGHT
A brilliant weekly weigh in loss this week of 3.6lbs as I've been really good with my food over the week - not having too many events involving food and drink has helped!
I've now moved into the Overweight category rather than the Obese and my BMI Is now in the Slightly High range rather than the High! According to my Renpho scales' app my visceral fat level has halved since I started my weight loss journey so that has really pleased me as this is the fat protecting your organs which can get dangerous if it increases too much. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟
