I made big mistake buying my house

They are basically bullies, they know it’s loud and know police or council won’t do anything.
on their own they quiet as mouse but together they like hyenas.
They know they live in a cramped 3 bed house so they take out their frustration by playing loud music.1 -
Why do you have a grudge against next doors LL? Your situation is nothing to do with him.Slips36 said:
I know where the LL lives, the lucky chap lives in a nice detached house in Woodley worth over million. I wonder if he has paid taxes on his 9 hmos?2 -
I don’t have grudge against him but he knows very well he is cramming 7-8 people in what are traditionally 3 bed houses and it’s next door neighbours who have to suffer for his greed.Slithery said:

Have you tried contacting the council and speaking to them on the phone? I would want to know what they can do/will do, if you continue keeping a diary like you are. What is their course of action going to be, based on your information to them. No doubt they will look at frequency, time of day etc. I don’t think buying a sub-woofer will help, it will make it worse and is not a solution, but I do understand your frustration. Have you looked into soundproofing? Obviously there are different routes and costs, but this may be something to look into? It may not remove it completely, but it will make it less loud maybe?I think you should contact the landlord, especially if you know where he is based. You could write to him and ask him to call you to discuss. He may not know there is an issue.I do wonder what your seller had to tolerate over a year of lockdown, and what their motive was for moving. Have you spoken to the conveyancer who handled the purchase for you?1

The tenants also know the LL has crammed them in so take out their frustration by playing extremely loud music.
I explained to them these houses have thin walls and it’s very difficult for us to concentrate over the din.
The only way to get through them is to play music as loud as them

We had a landlord turn a perfectly ordinary 3 bed detached family home into an HMO in our street. I think there were 5 people living in it which must have been fun as there was one toilet and the kitchens are small. They were noisy, left rubbish all over the place, there were issues with parking; it was making the immediate neighbours' lives a misery. Our neighbourhood watch people found out who the landlord was, a professional landlord who owns hundreds of houses, and the local residents made a real nuisance of themselves with the landlord. Every time there were problems, they made sure the landlord knew about it. The police got involved when some of the tenants fell out with each other, including a police helicopter circling over the street in the middle of the night whilst one collected their possessions from the house. In the end there was so much pressure being put on the landlord, he kicked all the tenants out and rented the house out to a single family, and life returned to normal for the rest of us.Your neighbour's landlord won't do anything without some pressure to act. I did look at sound proofing but the rooms are fairly small and sound proofing will make them even smaller and not really sure how effective it will be against very loud bass noise. They also play music in the tiny garden so it’s going to be costly. I’m short on savings has I had to renew the rear dormer flat roof for 3k.Weathergirl_76 said:Have you tried contacting the council and speaking to them on the phone? These has been the worst 2 months of my life. I’m really losing all hope with no help from council or police.
I like to thank you all for your help.0 -
I'm sorry to read this. There is always a solution, OP, even if it seems very far away. Some people are incredibly inconsiderate.Slips36 said:These has been the worst 2 months of my life. I’m really losing all hope with no help from council or police.
