Kaz, interesting about the fuschia. I have two established fuschias and both look dead. My neighbour has a huge fuschia which also looks dead. DH says to leave them a while and see if they recover.
I've just taken the dogs for another walk. Off to see friends shortly.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Wide awake at 6am, tried to read, tried to snooze, but couldnt settle so got up.
Did a stretch and tone class and made myself stick at it even though I wasnt really in the mood, have hoovered downstairs, been for a 3 mile walk, de-limescaled the bathroom, put clean laundry away and cleaned DS loo.
The farmer has put bullocks in the field near the river where I like to walk. I am ever so slightly scared of them, even though I was brought up in the countryside! I convinced myself it was OK because they were across the other side of the field, but then one of them looked up and starting staring at me, I decided that if I didnt stare back all would be OK and I walked very quickly to the gate. I have no idea if there was any logic in this but not looking him in the eye seemed like a sensible plan. Might not go that way next time.
Feet up with a brew now, waiting for DH to get back from work.7 -

I really do not like myself some days!
this is another reason I make no progress at all. I'm just waiting for the second coat to dry and will get a third on. I can then move the sofa and paint up to the door and get the bed built and the TV and console rebuilt on top of the sideboard which may yet get moved around.
I've folded DS1's clothes and moved his chest of drawers across the room.. There is so much gibble to sort through.. so much gibble!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)8 -
Pigpen it looks amazing!!
DS has called for an hour between work, his Covid jab, and the pub. I had to swing into Mother hen mode making him a quick stir fry for his tea rather than him going to the pub on an empty stomach. He looks pale and tired and either has hayfever or a bit of a cold.
Its a year today since I lost my lovely BIL to cancer. It sounds such a cliche to say he wouldnt want us sitting about feeling sad but its true, I rang Mum in Law to check she was OK and she says she thinks about him every single day so the anniversary doesnt make it any worse.
Wine and crisps here. I have done my finance spreadsheets and I need to really cut the spending next month.8 -
2 walls.. 3 coats of paint.. I don't think this lining paper has ever been painted before, I was sure it had.. oh well.. it has now.
TY YL .. I really wish I did not do these spontaneous and random things.. It does not make my life any easier! (((love and hugs)) for you and OH and MiL .. The last of the firsts
Tomorrow I have to slither the sofa around a bit more, reset up the TV etc.. vacuum a lot.. slide everything into its new places and build a bed.. I then will move the stuff form the third wall and paint that. I will then sort out some underbed boxes.. I have 2 in my room which are full of shoes and no doubt a few others lurking about.
DS2 has given me 2 binbags to take to charity shop (I am putting them in the rag bin.. NO ONE needs his cast offs.. no one!)
Monday we are at DD1's for Lionels first birthday!! That has come around scarily fast!

(((Hugs))) to Fayolle, YL, HB and anyone else who needs them xxx
I have spent the past 2 days decluttering baking ingredients and craft materials
Naggy Nora persuaded me to sit for an hour in the garden of some old friends who I hadn't seen for about 3 years (but they live not far from my godchildren, so it made sense to visit them today), drinking their tea and eating their biscuits.
But the biggest achievement of the day has been to persuade Rosie to take her worming tablets. Cheese was not sufficient to tempt her - she just spat out the tablets. Instead I had to sacrifice a piece of my stewed beef. This ex-street dog has developed expensive tastes!
