Legal fuel protests to commence.........

And it seems Gibraltar pounds (GIP) have the same value as GBP. If the pumps went to those prices here overnight it would be like Christmas is coming.
IIRC Gib has 20% NI rate, a 30% basic rate of income tax & the bands are less generous than ours. You pays your money & you takes your choice0 -

They can certainly move your car (as long as they don't cause damage).
I have broken into a car before and pushed it away from my garage entrance.
I don't know if this is legal or illegal but I would be suprised if a prosecution was succesful if there is no damage and the intention is merely to move an obstruction.0 -
You'd have a queue of irate motorists who don't give two hoots about some silly protest advising you it is probably better that you moved on.
I notice they are now protesting on a Saturday because everyone's at work on Wednesday - real hard line protesting that - bit like voting to go on strike, but only on a day you ahve booked as leave!0 -
In order to apply for and retain a HGV licence, you must be deemed to be of "good repute" and this is something that's been around for decades. You can have your licence withdrawn by the Traffic Commissioner at any time for not being of good repute. You will be required to attend a TC tribuneral to defend yourself in such a case.
Hee hee. Sounds like a cross between a tribunal and a funeral!

I don't think that they can force me to move it but i'm not confident enough to try it out!
I think it's quite difficult to force you.
I don't think the police will drop everything for an obstruction on private property so even if you agree to move it straight away then it could be obstructing for a few hours at peak time.
Of course they could break the window, let off the handbrake, move the car and then deny all knowledge of the damage (oh and the CCTV cameras were off at the time).
There is a risk of your car getting damaged and no-one having seen anything.
Of course if you have an old banger that you'll be talking to the scrap yard soon then you have nothing to lose.0 -
my local commercial radio carried it as a news item0

I appreciate the cost of our fuel is ridiculous but could I please just ask that anybody protesting spare a thought for the tanker drivers. One of my best friends is one and at the end of the day is just trying to earn a living like everyone, all be it through driving a bomb! He works long hours and this time of year is busy enough for them without having to worry about protestors. Like many others he hasn't always driven a tanker but other HGVs so was in the same boat as everyone else. So please if protesting consider that it is the government you are protesting at not the drivers.0

Err, no. As for due care and attention and lane changing without indicating...people in glass houses and all that.
Oh, and how many car drivers got speeding tickets from GATSOs last year? 2 million. That's 2 million examples of incompetent car drivers who failed to see a bright yellow box at the side of the road. And you criticise us?
im sure ive seen you posting elsewhere that you have a capri (nice car) so that then includes you as being not just a trucker, but also a motorist....work permit granted!0
