Legal fuel protests to commence.........

A lady who works with OH told him today that her husband, a paramedic, had been told to keep his car topped up as there we fuel strikes coming before xmas.

Cant help thinking its a bit of scare-mongering, but Paramedics were given priority fuel last time so Im unsure what to make of it.

Wouldn't surprise me, but what are your thoughts?

Although I've heard nothing on the news/radio, I wouldn't be at all surprised... however, I thought the government said after the last strike that they wouldn't tolerate anything of the sort again after the chaos it caused. :o

One thing's sure though - they won't lower taxes - what are they going to lose? Not their lead in the polls, that's for sure :rotfl:

So the M25 will be as usual then.

any idea of the date of that? not sure how i can get where i want to be without using the m25, so it would be good to be able to plan in advance to avoid that day!

If they are making a 'rolling' road block on the M25 then surely they have found someway to spead up the traffic? :D

If there is a fuel protest, its probably a good time right now with all the knocking the government are getting, cash for honours, labour party donors, the missing data discs. But then one could argue that its also a good time to show the people that the idiots are in control.

Also looks like inflation is going up, no surprise there. Just as long as incomes dont match it (

As you say, certain occupations were givren priority last time and paramedics were certainly one. So, why should he need to worry about keeping topped up as I am sure he'd get priority again.

These kind of spurious rumours start panic buying and do nobody any good at all.

From what Ive been told they want all staff to keep their cars relatively full because the strikes will supposedly be very last minute. It will take a day or two to sort out priority fuelling.

I wish they'd just get on with it and protest! Petrols far to expensive...! As long as the emergency people can go about their business they can do what they like.. I just wish it would actually work!
I can't believe we're about the most expensive country for petrol in the world.. and the reason is because we pay about 60p tax on it..

grrrr it makes me soooo mad! If public transport was cheaper I wouldn't be too bothered, but my car takes about £25 a week on fuel, even now its £1 a lt and if I was to catch the train it would cost me about £40!!

Do you think its governments intention to cut greenhouse gases by making it expensive to travel? What with fuel and also rail fairs going up above inflation, perhaps there motives are too keep us peasants from going about our daily business.
